• Updates of Certificate of Origin:

• Implementation has been delayed to January 1, 2017

• Propose amendments in laws during Parliament Fall Session so CO requirements will meet international best practices

• He will instruct his team to send updates to various organizations (BCM and others) on their progress

• I had heard that MFA called Customs and General Taxation authorities for meeting on the same day after BCM's meeting with Dr. Enkhbold in the morning on CO issue.  He confirmed that he called them in for meeting. (amazing actions!)

• Supportive of Canada & Mongolia Bilateral Trade Agreement

• Responded that it has been 19 years in discussion, which is far too long

• Also, noted the importance of passing the Transparency Agreement

• NAMBC Chairman Steve Saunders also echoed similar points from his meeting with Minister Munkh-Orgil Thursday of last week.

Opportunity for Project Funding for Reducing Carbon Emissions

• Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) established by Government of Japan to support carbon reduction projects in developing countries. Companies can have up to 50% of project funding up to ~$390,000/yr.
