The program will include presentations regarding new developments at the State Board, legislative and case law developments, and updates on Board Rules. There will also be updates on ICMS II and EDI. A panel consisting of local claimant and defense attorneys and an employer representative will discuss issues facing employers such as telecommuting, settlements and delays in medical treatment. A second panel will include a nurse case manager who will discuss best practices for handling a claim during the first 90 days. Finally, the seminar will feature a lively audience participation presentation where the attendees will discuss hot topics and unique scenarios in workers’ compensation. Popular topics to be discussed and debated include defenses to workers’ compensation claims, posted panel issues, medical concerns, return-to-work issues and more. This activity has been submitted to AAOHN for approval to award contact hours. “AAOHN is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.” In addition, applications have been submitted for approval for the following professions: Legal (CLE); CCMC/CDMSC/CRCC; Insurance Agents/Adjusters (GA License Number Only); and Human Resource (HRCI).

Be a Contestant...

The Honorable Frank R. McKay, Chairman of the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation, along with Board Director, Honorable Elizabeth D. Gobeil and Executive Director Delece A. Brooks, will visit select cities throughout Georgia as part of the 2017 Regional Educational Series on workers’ compensation.
