ProgrammeManager/Extra options Detergent Cleaning and care Problem solving guide

These short instructions are not a substitute for the operating instructions supplied with the appliance. Please read the operating instructions supplied with your washing machine before using it for the first time and take note of the Warning and Safety instructions, as well as the full descriptions on how to use your appliance.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser drawer

Washing at low temperatures and the use of liquid detergent can lead to a build-up of mould and bacteria in the detergent dispenser drawer.

ĺ Clean the entire drawer at regular inter-vals for hygiene reasons, even if you are using the TwinDos system exclusively.

ĺ Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer until a resistance is felt.

ĺ Press down the release button and, at the same time, pull the drawer right out of the machine.

ĺ Clean the detergent drawer with warm water.

Cleaning the siphon tube and the fabric softener channel

ĺ Pull the siphon out of the compartment and clean it under warm running water.

ĺ Clean the siphon tube in the same way. ĺ Refit the siphon.

ĺ Clean the fabric softener channel using a brush and warm water.

ə Liquid starch can cause the siphon to become clogged. Make sure that you clean the siphon and siphon tube particu-larly thoroughly after using liquid starch a few times.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser drawer housing

ĺ Use a bottle brush to remove deter-gent residues and limescale from the jets inside the detergent dispenser drawer housing.

The right amount to dispense will depend on the following: – The soiling level of the laundry.

Lightly soiled: No visible dirt or stains. Possibly slight body odour.

Normally soiled: Visibly dirty and / or just a few slight stains.

Heavily soiled: Soiling and / or stains clearly visible.

– The quantity of the laundry. – The water hardness level in your area.Check with your local water supplier if you do not know the hardness level in your area.

ProgrammeManagerThe ProgrammeManager option can be used to customise the washing program-mes to suit your requirements.

IntensiveFor hard-wearing laundry that is very hea-vily soiled. Cleaning efficiency is increased through more intense mechanical action and the application of more heat energy.

ECOThis option reduces energy consumption whilst maintaining cleaning efficiency. This is achieved by increasing the wash duration and at the same time reducing the wash temperature selected.

Extra gentleThis option decreases mechanical action in order to reduce creasing.

Extra quietThis option reduces noise levels during the programme. Use this if you want to wash during quiet periods (for instance, when children are sleeping). The machine will acti-vate the "Rinse hold" option and not spin. The programme duration is longer.

AllergoWashThis option should be used where high standards of hygiene are required. More energy is used to lengthen temperature holding times and more water is used to increase rinsing efficiency. The items must be suitable for drying in a tumble dryer and suitable for ironing .

Extra options

Steam smoothing Steam is injected into the drum at the end of the wash process. Reducing the maxi-mum load by 50% will give a better result. The garments must be suitable for drying in a tumble dryer and suitable for iron-ing .

SoakFor heavily soiled and stained items with protein stains.

ShortFor light soiling with no visible staining.

Rinse holdThe laundry is not spun after the final rinse and remains in the final rinse water. This helps prevent creasing if the laundry is not going to be removed from the drum imme-diately after the end of the programme.

Pre-washFor laundry with large amounts of dirt, e.g. dust and sand.

Water plusThe water level in the main wash and the rinses will be increased if the Water plus Extra option is selected.

Extra rinseAn additional rinse cycle can be carried out to give a better rinse result.

Dispensing fabric softener and liquid starch at the end of the programme

You can dispense fabric softener either by using automatic dispensing or via the deter-gent dispenser compartment.

Automatic dispensingOne of the automatic dispensing containers must be filled with fabric softener. ĺ Select TwinDos. ĺ Select the degree of soiling level of the load.

The display will change to show the Select agent menu. ĺ Make sure that Fabric softener is marked and confirm the selection with the OK sensor.

Fabric softener will be dispensed in the last rinse.

Manual dispensing

ĺ Add the fabric softener or liquid starch to the compartment or insert the appro-priate capsule. Do not exceed the maxi-mum level mark.

It will be automatically dispensed in the final rinse. At the end of the programme a small amount of water remains in the fabric soft-ener compartment.

If starching frequently, thoroughly clean the dispenser compartment, especially the siphon tube, regularly.

Cleaning the drum (Hygiene info)Washing at low temperatures and/or using liquid detergent can cause bacteria and unpleasant odours to build up in the wash-ing machine. Use the Clean machine pro-gramme to clean the machine. Run this programme regularly or at the latest when the Hygiene info: Start a programme with a minimum temperature of 75°C message appears in the display.

Cleaning the TwinDos system

The washing machine has a cleaning pro-gramme for cleaning the TwinDos system containers and the hoses inside the wash-ing machine.

The TwinDos containers (optional acces-sory) are required to carry out cleaning.

ə If the system has not been used for a long time (more than two months), the detergent in the hoses can become vis-cous. The hoses could become blocked and would then need to be cleaned by a service technician. Clean the TwinDos system every time you change brand of liquid detergent or fabric softener or if the system has not been used for a long period of time.

Starting the maintenance programmeThe maintenance programme is located in the Settings menu under TwinDos. ĺ Follow the instructions in the display and refer to the relevant section in the operat-ing instructions.

After cleaning you can fill one or both con-tainers with new liquid detergent and/or fabric softener.

Cleaning the compartmentDetergent residue can cause clogging. ĺ Use a damp cloth to clean the compart-ment interior when you change the car-tridge or container.
