3. ECTS/Grading System:
Grading system: Course credits at FEN are expressed in Unidad Docente (or UD). The UD
corresponds to the student’s academic workload during a semester. The UD credits refer to the
total number of weekly hours dedicated to each subject.
Evaluation is expressed on a scale of 1,0 to 7,0. The minimum passing grade is 4,0 or above. The
grade equivalents are as follows:

It is the responsibility of each exchange student to get their courses approved by their home

All incoming undergraduate non-degree exchange students must complete the University of
Waterloo's International Incoming Exchange Program Application.
There is no application fee for students applying as an incoming exchange student.
When completing the online application, you are responsible for submitting correct and complete
information. Please ensure that you have access to a printer and set aside approximately one

Once your application is complete, you should print two copies of the summary form. Submit one

Visa: To get visa exchange student will have to apply to the Consulate / Embassy of the Russian
Federation in their country with the official Visa Invitation Letter from SPbU.
Following the common rules single-entry visa for 90 days is issued first. Upon arrival to SPbU
exchange students will be able to extend the visa and get the multiple-entry one.
It’s forbidden to apply for tourist or any other type of visa because it will deny the student’s
enrollment to SPbU.

Each subject in the study programme has its number of ECTS points, and the volume of studies is
reflected in overall ECTS points. The total of 60 ECTS points corresponds to average student’s
work in a 40 working hour week in one academic year.
Students’ success in the exams is reflected in the following grades: 10 – remarkable; 9 –

Home institution sends student nominations for a study exchange, with the following documents
of the candidate:

afterward confirm the selection.
After the application documents have been evaluated at the respective UNS faculty, selected
students/staff will receive an invitation letter. They are also advised to read all relevant

accommodation, etc.)
