COULD YOU RUN A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION? We need some folks to help run the projector/PowerPoint slide show at our 11 am service this fall. Training will be provided! If you can help us out with this ministry, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Kathy Jeska ([email protected] or 715.386.8821, ext. 33). Thank you.

PINE RIDGE MISSION TRIP OCTOBER 22-25, 2015 If you have an interest in Native American culture, American history, the Old West or mission trips, you’ll want to join us for our Fall trip to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southwestern South Dakota. We’ll be delivering school supplies and clothing, seeing the sites, hearing from a number of Lakota friends, and doing a small service project. (And above all things,

showing the love of Christ through our actions!) The dates are Thursday-Sunday, October 22-25 and the cost is $200 to cover transportation, lodging and food. (We can only take a maximum of 18 people.) Talk to Pastor John, Alan Park or Mary Gerzmehle if you’re interested. (This has been a life-changing trip for so many for the past couple of years!)

BETHEL’S HOSPITALITY MINISTRY AT BOTH CAMPUSES We have four worship services every weekend at Bethel, and it “takes a village” to keep our hospitality ministry alive and running smoothly (peek at the list on page 4). Would you be willing to take a turn every now and then to help us out? You can contact our volunteer coordinator, Kathy Jeska, about our current volunteer needs ([email protected] or 715.386.8821, ext. 33). Thank you for considering this vital Bethel ministry!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES COLLECTION FOR TWO MINISTRIES Once again this year, Bethel is collecting school supplies for two ministries: Lutheran World Relief and the Wolf Creek school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

This is a great time to purchase school supplies—sales are popping up in most stores! If you would like to help, the LWR list is below. There is no specific list for Pine Ridge.

Four 70-sheet notebooks, wide– or college-ruled. (NO loose-leaf paper) One 30-centimeter ruler or ruler with centimeters on one side and inches

on the other One pencil sharpener One blunt scissors One eraser, approx. 2-1/2” Five unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure together with a rubber

band. Five ballpoint pens (NO gel ink); secure together with a rubber band

Cash donations are also welcome. (A $10.00 contribution will buy seven more bags for LWR!) Please specify “LWR school bags” and/or “Pine Ridge supplies”, then place in an envelope at either Bethel welcome center.

Thank you for considering these important ministries. Extra supplies will go back into our local community.

Those Who are Sick or in Need of Healing: Laura Bankes, Don Belisle, Scott Belisle, Pastor Bob Bipes, Karalee Bipes, Andrea Deacon-Jones, Janelle Dow, Scott Gunderson, Peggy Hale, Shirley Halyburton, Sharon Haugo, Ken Heiser, Merrill Johnson, Harvey Keene, Ardis Kelly, Cheryl Klanderman, Kim Lagerstrom, Dan Lindquist, Andrew Mack, Terri Pomeroy, Larry Quam, Rose-mary Riemenschneider, Kay Shager, Charlie Sime, Jason Yndestad and Amanda Zimmerman.

Those Serving or Deployed: Jeffrey Berg, Charles Burns, Jordan Kein and Steven Moreus.

Sympathy: We offer our sympathies and prayers of comfort and strength for the friends and family of Ward TeWinkle at his death; for Inge Bleier at the death of her sister, Carol Meier; and for Merry Willman and family at the death of her husband, Robert (Gus) Willman. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” HEALING MINISTRIES PRAYER Do you ever have plans that really take a u-turn on you? Have you ever planned and carefully proceeded along to-ward the goals you have set, only to have something un-expected throw a wrench into it? Perhaps sickness, loss of job, disappointment in a relationship, loss of a loved one, or destruction of property due to natural causes really changes things up for you. And not in a positive way! The short-sighted response may be that life is not fair! Well that is indeed true, we do not all experience life equally. But we all can change our outlook. We can reframe the situation by asking ourselves if there is a different way to look at our circumstances. The Bible is a great re-source for helping us in this endeavor. Meditate on Colossians 3:12, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy, and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."
