Description:
This webinar will tell one of the most dramatic stories we’ve seen yet to demonstrate the possibilities of fun and visual online engagement tools. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) was challenged to gather public input on several planning projects that were, quite frankly, not the most exciting of topics for most public participants. The first was a project to upgrade the stormwater management systems in several districts throughout the city. The second was a project to upgrade grey and green infrastructure in several city watersheds as a part of the Sewer System Improvement Program. Exciting stuff, right? The SFPUC utilized MetroQuest, a particularly visual online engagement tool, to engage citizens online and to their surprise and delight, engaged over 10,000 English, Spanish and Chinese speakers to inform these plans. Join us to learn more about how this came together, how these tools worked, and what lessons were learned by the project team.
