Ventilation in side modeToensureastablenegativepressureventilation,itismandatorytoinstalltherespectiveairinletandexhaustairele-ments,heatersandanautomaticcontrolsystem,includingemergencyopeningsystem.

1. Fresh airWallinletsinstalledalongtheentirelengthofthehouse:4 all-purposewallinletsCLFlexand CL1200withautomaticmotorwinch forincorporationintoawalloras flangeinlet,dependingonthebuilding design;

4 bafflesandsplitbaffleswithautomatic motorwinch.Freshairentersthehouseatahighspeed(3-5m/s)butwithoutcausingdraughtintheanimalarea.Thisensuresuniformtemperaturesandagoodairqualitythroughouttheentirehouse.

2. Exhaust airThefollowingproductsareavailable:4 exhaustairchimneysforroof-instal- lation,designedforprecise,continu- ously-controlledexhaustairremoval;4 wallfansinstalledatthelongsideof thehouse.

Iftheexhaustairremovalrateisnotsufficient,itispossibletoincreasetheairratebystartingindividualexhaustairfansinstalledinthegable–AirMasterwithorwithoutlightprotection–whicharealsoactiveintunnelmode.

3. Heating devicesBigDutchmanoffersthefollowingheatingdevicesinitsproductrangetosatisfythebirds‘heatrequirementsinthewinter:4 hotairblower(JetMaster);4 gasradiators;4 boxheaters4 infraredheaters

CombiTunnel -Ventilation

Duringventilationinsidemode,airentersthehouseevenlythroughthebaffleinletsinstalledonthelongsidesofthehouseandispartlyremovedfromthehousebythegablefans.

Duringventilationintunnelmode,theairinletsareclosedandairispulledthroughthetunnelinlettravellingthelengthofthehouseathighspeed.ThefreshaircanadditionallybecooledbymeansofaRainMakercoolingsystem.

TheCombiTunnelventilationrecommen-dedbyBigDutchmanisacombinationoftwoventilationsystemsinonehouse.Thismakesitpossibletoprofitfromtheadvantagesofbothsystems:4 incaseoflowoutsidetemperatures: ventilationinsidemode,uniform temperaturesthroughouttheentire house;4 incaseofhighoutsidetemperatures: ventilationintunnelmode;high coolingefficiencythroughwindchill effectatalowenergyconsumption.

Thissolutionisparticularlysuitableforclimatesthatarecharacterizedbystrongfluctuationsintemperatures–hightemperaturesinthesummer,lowtemperaturesinthewinterormajordifferencesintemperaturefromdaytonight.BothventilationsystemsarecontrolledbyaViperTouchclimatecomputer.Thisalsoincludesautomaticswitchingbetweenthetwoventilationsystems.Whenthesystemrunsintunnelmodethecomputeralsorecordstheairspeedandthereforethewindchilleffect.

Incaseofpowerfailureortechnicalfailure,theemergencyopeningsystemMC378CTwithintegratedmaintenance-free 24Vbatteryopenstheservomotorsfortheairinletsandoutletsbasedonthetemperaturerequirementsinthehouse.

Inverylonghouses,theairspeedintunnelmodecanincreasetoover4m/s.Inthiscase,werecommendusingadoubletunnel.Thismethodkeepspressurelosstoaminimum.

Ventilation in tunnel modeWhenitiswarmoutsideandtheventi-lationsystemoperatesintunnelmode,freshairentersthehouseviaairinletsthatarelocatedclosetothegable.Thefreshairis»pulled«throughthehouseinlongitudinaldirectionbymeansofhigh-performancefans.Thisisaso-calleddisplacementventilationatminimumenergyconsumption.Thefreshairentersthehouseonalargesurfaceanddisplacesthestaleairwithoutmixingwithit.Thankstotheuniformlyhighairspeedof2-3m/satbirdlevel,thewindchilleffectreducesthetemperaturefeltbytheanimalsby3-8°C,dependingontheageandtheweightofthebirds.Iftheoutsidetemperatureexceeds30°C,thecoolingeffectcausedbytheairspeedbecomeslesspronounced.Ifthisisthecase,thefreshoutsideairshouldbecooledadditionallybeforeitentersthehouse.

1. Tunnel air inletsTheairinletsarelargeopeningsequippedwithasafetyguard.Theinletsareopenedandclosedautomaticallybymeansofrollercurtains,flapsorshutters.

2. Exhaust air removalExhaustairisremovedbymeansofAirMasterfanswhichproducehighairflowratesatalowenergyconsumption(availablewithorwithoutcone,withorwithoutshades).Conefansareusedespeciallyinhousesthatareoperatedwithahighbackpressure,upto-80Pa,orinhouseswithonlylittlespaceavailablefortheinstallationoffans.Thesefansachievesignificantlyhigherairratesandarethereforeideallysuitedfortunnelventilationincagehouses.

3. CoolingIftheoutsidetemperatureexceeds30°C,theRainMakercoolingsystemisused.Thecoolingsystemshouldbeinstalledinaseparatebuilding,theso-calleddoghouse.Thishasthefollowingadvantages:4 thetunnelopeningsaresmaller –>higherairspeedscanbeachieved –>betterdistributionofair –>therequiredairspeedcanbe adjustedmoreprecisely –>betterinsulation,i.e.fewer insulationplatesareneededfor thewintertime4 curtains,flapsandshuttersare protectedbetteragainstdustand otherenvironmentalinfluences4 betterprotectionagainstwindandrain4 nodangerofwaterenteringthehouse4 thepadscanbeaccessedfromboth sides–>easymaintenance,even whenthehouseisoccupied.
