DR. ALTHOBAITY APPOINTED AS SUPERVISOR OF THE CHAIRS AND SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES
On behalf of the College of Dentistry we would like to congratulate Dr. Ahmad Al-Thobaity for his appointment as the Supervisor of the Chairs and Scientific Societies Unit at Vice Presidency for Post-graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.
DR. MARIA IBRAHIM APPOINTED AS INTERSHIP PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Dr. Maria Ibrahim was appointed as the Internship Program Director.COD would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Faris Al-Shahrani for his efforts during his period as the Director of the Internship Program.

DRS. SUHAYLA MUBARAK AND IMRAN FAROOQ BID FAREWELL TO THE COLLEGE
MS. LULUWAH HAMMEM DIPLOMA
On behalf of the College of Dentistry, we would like to wish Dr. Suhayla Mubarak an assistant professor from the oral radiology division, Biomedical Dental Science department a safe journey and best of luck as she bid farewell to our college. Dr. Suhayla has served the college for 15 years as a course director for Oral Radiology courses. She has been one of the pillars at the college when it comes to radiology sessions both laboratory and clinical. We wish her a safe journey home.
On behalf of the College of Dentistry, we would like to wish Dr. Imran Farooq an assistant professor from the oral biology division, Biomedical Dental Science department a safe journey and best of luck on his future endeavors as he bids farewell to our college. Dr. Imran has served the college for eight years as a course director and course contributors for undergraduate courses. He was also an active member of college committees and accreditation. Dr. Imran has also collaborated with many faculty members for research and publication.
We congratulate Ms. Lulwa Al-Hammem, Administrative Assistant in the Department of Preventive Dental Sciences. She obtained a diploma in human materials and a Specialist certificate in human resource manage-ment and administrative development.

AWARENESS AND HEALTH PROTOCOL LECTURE DURING COVID- 19 IN THE COLLEGE
Before the start of the semester, all students provided COVID-19 test results as the college provided awareness lectures and protocols.
The Following measures must be followed at all times: • Visual inspection upon entry. • Fill out the daily disclosure form.• Divide attendance and leave into periods. • Ensure that the facility is sterilized. • Maintain spacing. • Wear a mask throughout the day.

The Continuing Education & Faculty Development unit under the leadership of Dr. Khalid AlMulhim in collaboration with VDAA and VDCA moderated the Student Orientation via Zoom.
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muhanad Al Hareky, gave a lecture on study mechanisms in the emergence of a pandemic and academic and clinical requirements for students during their studies for this semester.
Director of the Professionalism and Leadership Unit, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Amri, gave a lecture on guidelines for reopening hospital services during a pandemic period.
Ms. Bernadeth and Silgi gave a lecture on patient follow-up mechanism and precautions to be taken in light of a pandemic.
Dr. Sarah Fita gave a lecture on the updates that have been made in the group practice, the new distribution mechanism, and the clinics› locations and their distribution.
Dr. Anas Howsawi, director of screening clinics at a hospital a lecture about the preparations made by the dental hospital to prevent the spread of a virus Newcomer and maintain the health of visitors and employees of the dental hospital.

An introductory meeting about student activities and community service for all students of the college through the ZOOM program, in which the achievements of the activities over the previous years and the activities that will take place during the current year were presented.

The College has several training workshops for postgraduate students on: • Introduction to dental treatment during the Corona pandemic. • Dental hospital preparations during the Corona pandemic.

Dental interns from IAUdent presented their research proposals as part of their internship program requirements. The sessions were supervised by the Internship Program Director, Dr. Maria Ibrahim and Dr. Abdullah Al Madani. The judges were Dr. Abdulsamad Khan and Dr. Omar Mukhtar.
INTERNS RESEARCH PROPOSALS
CONTINUING EDUCATION LECTURES & WORKSHOPS
The Internship Program in cooperation with the Continuing Education and Faculty Development Unit at the College hosted a webinar entitled “Options for Root Coverage”. The guest lecturer was Dr. Asim AlSuwaiyan This lecture is one among the weekly lectures of male and female interns.

IAUdent hosted a webinar wherein Dr. Isabel Rambob presented an interactive and wonderful workshop entitled “Wellbeing and Resilience in the Time of COVID-19”. To prepare and support the students, faculty and employees for a safe return and how to deal with various challenges during COVID19 pandemic.The workshop covered a rich of information around the following topics:
• The model for professional development and how to use the discussed tools to improve our career.• Dentist and stress in the COVID-19 pandemic and the effect of stress on communications and decisions
making.• The importance of Self-awareness and how Coronavirus affect it.• Creative thinking and “How to maintain our repetition”.

Dr. Abdullah AlMadaniDr. Abdullah was chosen as one of the Distinguished Alumni of the IAUdent. He graduated in 2012 from the College and later on study abroad to pursue his Postgraduate studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry(AEGD), Dental Public Health(DPH) and earn his Master degree in Public Health(MPH).
