BIOPARC 3 :Boost your development in an environment of excellence
BIOPARC 3 has been designed to rationalize space and technical functionalities. Each laboratory can be converted into a chemistry or biology lab. A safety shower is installed within each laboratory, while a gas bottle storage area will be provided outside each module.
The interiors are streamlined and uncluttered, and are surrounded by transparent and opalescent glass walls to reveal the heart of the building.
While the north facing part of the building is transparent, the wall becomes opalescent over the concrete facings and the south-facing facade highlights the technical features of the air-intake openings. The design of the shell is thus in perfect harmony with the simplicity of the interior, while capturing the rigour and discipline of scientifi c research.
the project The construction of a building for laboratories and offi ces with a fl oor area of 3103 m² (3340 ft²), to add to 2 already-completed buildings with a total area of 4500 m² (48400 ft²), constructed as part of the BIOPARC program.

the ChallengesTo provide immediate availability of the facilities on the Innovation Park meeting the requirements of young biotech companies. The site is part of, Alsace Biovalley, the Competitiveness Cluster, which has a worldwide reputation for therapeutic innovation.

the blower fan).

Fume cupboards and terminal fi ttings such as sinks, electrical
outlets, etc.
Connections to utilities
Exhaust ventilation ducts up to the technical roof
Exhaust motors with variable speed drive, to be fi tted on the roof
The supply of a 0-10V signal for adjusting air compensation.
BIOPARC 3 features
specifi c equipments
- Rational, easily-accessible, ground-level equipment rooms.
This layout separates the Air Processing Units (APU) from the fume
cupboard exhausts in the roof. The following common services are
located on the ground level:
• Meeting rooms
• Toilets and washrooms
• Central cleaning service-room
- Architecturally showcased process.
The transparent glass exterior highlights the APUs, bringing the
ground level to life and showcasing the activity within the building.
- Secure access to technical services through a service area
allowing access to the bunker, equipment rooms and to the central
vertical traffi c hub and the elevator.
- Rigourous and rational fl oor map
• North-facing laboratories for constant natural light, without
overheating or heat radiation.
• Modules can be grouped 2 by 2 on each fl oor.
• Footprint optimised by the program’s vertical design.
• Enhanced security for laboratories starting from the fi rst fl oor.
• Technical roofi ng designed to accommodate fume cupboard
exhausts with easy and secure access.
• Validated low-energy (BBC) design.
