Purpose• To compare bird diversity at the greenway section

to bird diversity of the overall Piedmont region.

Hypothesis• If bird diversity is compared, then diversity on

Greenway would be lower than other areasaround the region without trails.

Methods and Materials• One of the methods was to set up 3 points along

the Greenway and record species and number ofbirds at each point for 7 to 10 minutes.

• I also used the Biology 110 class to observe birds

• We used binoculars and a bird guide book todistinguish the different types of birds we saw.

• We also used bird diversity using Cornell e-bird tocompare bird diversity in the Piedmont region.
