Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Mercy Defined:
From the Greek word Eleemon: The root word , Eleos (n.), means the outward manifestation of pity.
Eleemon, however, means not simply possessed of pity but actively compassionate. It is aid to the afflicted, help to the wretched; rescuing the miserable.

Being Merciful:
Ø Is used of Jesus as a High Priest, Hebrews 2:17
“For this reason He had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service to God, and that He might make atonement for the sins of the people.”

Being Merciful:
Ø Is used of those who are like God, Luke 6:35-36
“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

“Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his
servants. And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But as he was
not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he
had, and that payment be made.
Matthew 18:23-35 (NKJV)

The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ Then the master of that servant was
moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
Matthew 18:23-35 (NKJV)

But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii;
and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ So his
fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ And he would not, but went and
threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.
Matthew 18:23-35 (NKJV)
#blessed
So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and
told their master all that had been done. Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You
wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also
have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’
Matthew 18:23-35 (NKJV)

And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due
to him. So My Heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his
brother his trespasses.”

“And so woodenly, mechanically, I thrust my hand into the one stretched out to me. And as I did, an incredible thing took
place. The current started in my shoulder, raced down my arm, sprang into our joined hands. And then this healing warmth
seemed to flood my whole being, bringing tears to my eyes. ‘I forgive you, brother!’ I cried. ‘With all my heart!’ For a long moment we grasped each other’s hands, the former guard and the former prisoner. I had never known God’s love so
intensely, as I did then.”
