Hospitaler Sisters of Mercy
Our History: We the ‘Hospitaller Sisters of Mercy’ are a religious congregation of sisters founded in
1821 in Rome, Italy. In these 198 years we have grown in numbers and reached out our missionary
services to 13 countries - Italy, India, Philippines, Madagascar, Nigeria, Poland, Switzerland, Timor
Lester, Cameroon, Indonesia, Vietnam, Rwanda and USA.
We dedicate our lives to Jesus through our work in the service of seniors, the sick, the poor & destitute
children, adults and seniors as well.
All our ministries are carried-out with religious faith and professional commitment.
Our missionary works include:
Care for the sick and the elderly in Hospitals, Medical Clinics, Assisted Living Centers
and Home Health services.
Provide education and shelter for orphaned and homeless children
Organize empowerment programs for women and families
Operate rehabilitation Centers for those affected by drugs, alcohol and other social
addictions.
Provide medical care to patients affected with leprosy
Offering food, clothing to families in need
Giving a loving and safe home to juvenile victims of human trafficking
In all our religious communities we regularly organize Faith Formation and Re-
Evangelization programs; and giving thorough knowledge on the teachings,
traditions and practices of the Holy Catholic Church.
We do welcome you to support any of these areas of our missionary services. Your support to our missions is
greatly appreciated and we pray God to bless you with good health, long life, peace and happiness.
Thank you and God bless.

BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC SCHOOL CORNER
AND THERE ARE OPINIONS …
There is always a liveliness and blood-flowing expression to opinion. It is what one thinks and
how one reacts. A wise person once said: “to insist that one’s opinion is the standard by which
all life functions is to project the insistence that God is speaking”! How very true! And among
us humans this too happens! We all take our turns at stepping into the sandals of the Divine!
When God speaks (through the Sacred Scriptures and for us, Catholics, through the teaching-
Church) we do not have an option. This does not mean that there are never ‘opinions’ about
God’s Word. The beauty is that, in the final analysis, God is the winner. He is in charge. This is
His world, gifted to us with the obligation to take care of it. How can one contradict the Word of
God?
In the matter of “Caring for the environment” the Church is not expressing an opinion. Our
Holy Father, Pope Francis, in his encyclical LAUDATO SI (the Latin for PRAISE BE TO YOU) is
not flippantly stating an opinion; he is teaching about our responsibility to care for God’s
creation. References to the Sacred Scriptures abound. It seems like our only option is to
accept or reject. And there are names on both lists! I hope everyone is aware that any
Church-teaching is the result of wide consultation, understanding and prayer before the final
print is circulated. Oh yes, one can still have an ‘opinion’ about the manner of expression
(hopefully not the content). Leave semantics out, please. The pages of the Bible are replete
with references to our responsibility to care for the environment. We have a duty, a
responsibility.
Care for the Environment is not a Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Communist or any such
political ‘bent of mind’ issue. CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE. By
faith standards, CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS A MORAL ISSUE. We either Care for the
Environment or choke ourselves to death and that would be a slow suicide. Wow! Now that’s a
strong expression!!!
(Moral responsibility = taking care of God’s gift of creation is in line with the Mind of
the Giver; not taking care of the gift is just the opposite. Wouldn’t you like your gift
(s) to anyone to be appreciated and used well? This is the least complicated
explanation I can offer at midnight. Good Night!)
The truth does not depend on one’s OPINION … no
matter who the person is, what the person does, how
the person thinks. The truth is objective. The truth is
not convenience. God is truth. His revealed Word is
truth. And, as the saying goes, there are times when
THE TRUTH HURTS!

nosotros, podemos usar nuestros dones y talentos
Respondemos. Damos de vuelta a
Dios una porción del tiempo que Él nos ha dado;
damos de vuelta a Dios una porción del talento que
el nos ha dado; damos de vuelta a Dios una porción
del tesoro que el nos ha dado. Y cuando hacemos
esto de una manera regular, consistente, estamos
siendo buenos administradores, buenos cuidadores.
¡UN BUEN CUIDADOR ES UN BUEN
ADMINISTRADOR Y VICEVERSA TAMBIÉN!!
