grooming permitted in the classroom.• 7. Respect yourself, materials, and others at all times.• 8. Clean up after yourself.

My Ideas…

No, you will never…• Be able to sit around and play on your phone• Do nothing! Be bored! This is your time to be creative

and practice and learn more art skills! When you finish a project, you can silent read!

• Put paint on the walls, tables or counters of the art room (on purpose)

• Be able to stand, lay, or sit on top of the tables.• Be allowed to use inappropriate language or have

inappropriate conversations. I have ears like a fox.• Disrespect anyone or anything!

New This year…• Phone/Device Consequences• Bring a book: You are expected to have a

reading book, I am FINE with comics or graphic novels, with you every day! If you do not bring your own, I will supply you with SUPER interesting articles to read and answer questions with.

• Mandatory Art Fee: Everyone taking an art class MUST pay the $5 supply fee to the main office

If someone is not respecting the learning environment, the following consequences will be utilized

• Warning and/or talk/conference with teacher• Alternative work in time-out classroom• Parent/Guardian contacted by phone or email• Referral• (The teacher reserves the right to modify

consequences as needed.)

Phone in class consequences• If you are caught using your phone or ANY

electronics in class..– 1st time: You will be asked to put it away– 2nd time: Device will be taken and locked in my

desk for the period and a lunch detention will be assigned (your guardian will be called).

– 3rd time: You and the Device will be removed from the classroom and a referral will be written (your guardian will be called).

Classroom Incentives: Small

• Teacher’s Assistant for a day• DJ for a day• Work in the hallway• Chalkboard Designer (this is soon to be set up,

but it would allow one person to design the area outside of the door with chalk)

• Choose your seat for a class period

Classroom Incentives: BIG

• Splatter paint party• Movie Festival• Field Trips• Food Structures!

How do we earn these incentives?

• Having amazing clean-ups at the end of class!• Keeping the noise at an appropriate level!• Embracing Differences • Being Respectful to one another and the

materials!• Being committed to your artwork!

What I want you to get out of being in this class and following the rules:
