Great Aussie Bush Camp Excursion The school is still planning to attend the GABC at this current stage. However, we are aware of the current situation and we will act as required. If the school does decide to cancel the excursion all monies paid including the deposit will be refunded. We will try to keep parents updated as best we can but at this present time we won’t have final costings available until Term 2 because of this we will extend the payment period to allow for this if the excursion goes ahead as planned. We thank the parents for the understanding in this matter. Assemblies All assemblies have been cancelled for the remainder of this Term and Term 2 postponed until further notice. We apologise for this but it is now department policy. PSSA Knockout & Trials All PSSA knockouts and trials have been postponed until Term 3 for the present time, it could be longer depending on the developing situation. The school will keep parents up to date with the details. Hearing Tests Thank you to those families who have returned the Sound Scouts hearing test note. Some tests have been conducted as the test requires the students to be tested twice for accurate results. Parents will receive information regarding their child’s results in the coming weeks. Swimming for Sport Swimming for Sport has been cancelled for the rest of the Term. Students will receive a refund in the coming days. Sport will continue at school.

Visiting the school The school would appreciate that all parents report to the office first before entering the playground and/or classrooms from now on as we have to practise social distancing and our student’s health and safety is our main priority. Student Banking Student banking is now closed until further notice, we have been instructed not to continue by the Commonwealth Bank. Mrs Patricia Sharp Relieving Principal

P&C and Canteen News Canteen is open on Monday’s and Friday’s and will be by ORDER ONLY. Please ensure if your child wants to purchase something from the canteen it is ordered of a morning so they don’t miss out. We have decided that for now we will allow canteen orders to be paid for by direct debit to help us lower our interactions with money. Our direct debit details are as follows: Account Name: BPS P and C BSB: 062-551 Account Number: 1023 9762 Reference: child’s name Please note on the order that you have paid via direct debit as well as send a copy of the payment receipt to Nicole Rixon on 0427 257 759. As most of you would be aware Drovers Campfire has been cancelled. We will no longer be requiring the return of the volunteer forms.

Canteen Roster for Weeks 9 & 10

Presidents Report Dear Parents, Carers, Community Members and Staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous P&C Executive Committee for the tireless and hard work that they did for our School this past 12 months. Our new P&C Committee for 2020 is as follows President- Nicole Rixon Vice President- Stephanie Friel-Hancock Secretary- Camille Wannan Treasurer- Amber Grover Canteen Co-Ordinator – Krystal Hobden Due to the cancellation of the Drovers Campfire we have lost one of our major fundraisers. This is however not stopping us from continuing to find new ways to fundraise for our school to help with purchases for our students. Our Canteen will continue to run on Mondays and Fridays as per normal until the end of Term. We are asking that you please take note of our new cashless option of direct deposit for lunch payments. This reduces this need for our volunteers to handle money. The Canteen are always looking for people to help volunteer. I promise it isn’t a scary or overwhelming place to be. You are trained over a cuppa and biscuit and your children love to see you in there. Next Term I am looking to reinstate TRY IT TUESDAY!!! I have had quite a few children ask when I would be doing it again as they loved trying something new each week. I am open to suggestions for meals etc to try and am happy to send home recipes for the meals. I am a very approachable person and love to chat so if you have any ideas, concerns or questions relating to the P&C please get in touch and I will be happy to help to the best of my ability. Regards, Nicole Rixon President Boggabri Public School P&C Association.
