Audiences as diverse as those from small-town senior citizens to suburban Baby Boomers to the sophisticated Manhattan cabaret set have been entertained by her dynamic performances.
Valerie has opened for international recording artists such as The Four Aces and Al Martino. She has also performed with Broadway stars such as Franc D’Ambrosio, the stage and screen star who held the record for being the longest-running Phantom in the history of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera ... Mary Callanan, who starred in the Broadway revival of Annie and Mamma Mia ... the late Jennifer Rae-Beck, who appeared on Broadway in Les Misérables and in the television production of Gypsy starring Bette Midler ... and Australian singer and trumpet player Greg Bonham, a top headliner in Las Vegas.
Valerie won an award for the Best Cabaret Show from the Independent Reviewers of New England. The crititcs’ organization also nominated her show The Streisand Songbook for an award.
For three years in a row, Valerie was voted as “One of 10 Best Cabaret Shows” by Boston’s Bay Windows publication.
A caring and big-hearted philanthropist, she donated the proceeds from her first CD (Let Me Be Strong) as well as two concert performances (a total of nearly $10,000) to the victims of Hurricane Charley in Charlotte County, Florida, and has given generously to a host of other community needs. She was also featured on the album A Drop of Rain: Songs of Strength and Hope for Darfur.
Valerie has two fully orchestrated POPS programs, both with arrangements by Jim Rice and George Mancini.
