Now, she is bedridden, lethargic, and suffers from bed sores. The guardian has not per- mitted Nancy to visit her ailing mother for nearly a year. Nancy had to se- cure the services of a lo- cal attorney just to obtain restricted visitation. She is only permitted to see her mother twice a month for one and a half hours per visit. The last time Nancy went to see her mother, Marian pleaded with her to take her home, saying, “If you don’t get me out of here, they’re going to kill me.” Journalist Terri LaPoint has written extensively on “medical kidnap” cas- es and recently visited Marian at Diversicare. LaPoint reports that Mar- ian asked for Nancy and does not understand why she has been separated from her daughter. “Mar- ian Leonard deserves to spend her last years near family and enjoy their care and company,” said LaPoint. “Instead, she has been placed under the ‘protection’ of a strang- er and is faring far worse under state care than she ever did with her daughter. When the state can sever deep family bonds with a stroke of a pen and place innocent people in harm’s way against their will, the state has too much pow- er.” “We are appalled that Al- abama’s Department of Human Resources would consign an elderly woman to a facility against her will and then allow her con- dition to deteriorate so rapidly,” said Life Legal Executive Director Alex- andra Snyder. “Life Legal will do whatever is in our power to ensure that Mar- ian Leonard receives the care she needs, including frequent visits from her daughter.” Life Legal is considering Nancy’s legal options at this time. The last Abortion Center in the state of Missouri will get to continue abort- ing babies even though the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic has in- jured at least 74 women in botched abortions and has routinely failed State Health Department in- spections. The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS), which licenses abortion facil- ities in that state, filed a motion with the Adminis- trative Hearing Commis- sion in opposition to RHS Planned Parenthood’s request to stay their de- cision to deny the facility an abortion license. RHS Planned Parenthood has asked for Commissioner Sreenivasa Rao Dan- damudi, to rule on their Motion to Stay without a hearing today. RHS Planned Parenthood has accused the DHSS of acting in an arbitrary and capricious manner in de- nying their facility license even though they have refused to cooperate with a DHSS investigation of “several troubling in- stances of patient care at the facility, including one instance where a patient seeking a late-term abor- tion suffered a potentially life-threatening complica- tion.” Today, the commission gave the last abortion business another exten sion and it gets to stay open until August. The stay, granted by Ad- ministrative HearingCom- missioner Sreenivasa Rao Dandamudi, will al- low the clinic to continue abortions until at least August. The Administrative Hear- ing Commission on Friday scheduled a hearing for Aug. 1 to review whether the state was right to not renew the license. Dan- damudi said there was a “likelihood” that the ruling would be in the clinic’s fa- vor, according to the As- sociated Press. Abortions are not safe at the Planned Parenthood center in St. Louis. In fact more than 70 wom- en have been rushed to local hospitals after failed abortions at the Planned Parenthood Center. lifenews.com COME OUT of the 4 walls and COME to Desoto Square Mall.
