QUICK CHANGES We are striving to IMPROVE the professionalism of our shows. We have had negative feedback regarding the ins and outs of the parents helping with quick changes during the shows.
• Be organized. Using a laundry basket allows you to find items easier. • Label everything!!!! (Especially shoes) • Have all needed supplies (gel, bobby pins, clips, binders, hair net, bun
builder, safety pins, make up, hair spray). • Have a plan for how your child will change without help. Practice it at
home. Kids 3rd grade and up should be able to change alone. A female helper CAN be back stage but should watch from the chute to not go in and out. One person could help 3 or 4 kids. Take turns at the various shows.
• Dancers should not use far away restrooms or you hold up the show. Use the Quick Change Locker Room for such changes.
• Arrive with make up and hair done. • Items frequently forgotten, extra tights, black knee-high socks for kick. • Speed is important, dancers should not hold up the show!
WHAT TO EXPECT: ON SHOW DAY PARKING There will still be construction happening in and around the high school, with that and the large number of families arriving at the same time, parking could get crazy. However, there is a lot of parking available if you use the, South lot, the pit (by the football field), and the lower lot near the soccer field if necessary.
ADMISSION Remember to have your pre-sale tickets available to give to the door monitors. Pre-Sale ticket holders, DO NOT wait in the admission lines, go directly to the doors. You can enter the gym via the lower level or gymnastics doors. To purchase day of tickets you must go to the ticket table located at the south doors entrance. There will also be a will call ticket area near the south doors.
SEATING We will have a full crowd, but there will be enough seats for everyone. The routines are choreographed to be viewed from above, so every seat in the gym will be a good one. We ask that the floor seats be reserved for parents of our Teeny/Tiny Kix and families that have a member unable to climb up into the bleachers.
DURING THE SHOW Once the show has begun, please refrain from moving while a team is performing. If you must leave your seat, please do so in-between numbers.
Applause is welcome. When you see something you like while a team is performing, let them know. A dance performance is an interactive experience.
AFTER THE SHOW Our last number will be the finale’ which encompasses all classes 2-12th grades. Our staff will stay on the gym floor with the younger dancers until parents come down onto the floor to pick them up. Older dancers are free to meet their parents in the bleachers after the finale’. Make sure to arrange a meeting place prior to dropping your dancer off. Our preschool-1st grade dancers will sit with their families following their last performance.
BETWEEN SHOWS We will be clearing the gym after each show. If you are attending multiple shows, please make sure to exit the gym and re-enter with the next show’s ticket. Thank you in advance for you cooperation.
• Preschool: Meet at the sound table 15 min before show time (if in 1st half of show) or at Intermission (if in the 2nd half of the show)
• 4 – 12th Grade JFK: Boys Swim Locker Room (those dancers not in combo classes)
• Starlites, Shooting Stars, Rising Stars*, Starmakers, Sr Kix, Dream Team, & Elite: Boys’ Main Locker Room
• ALL 2 – 3rd grade: 9th Grade Locker Room (next to concessions)
• ALL Firecrackers classes (K-1st): Outside weight room, area near the
back of the staging gym & chute (northwest corner of the gym)
• Male Dancers: Girls’ Swim Locker Room
• Warrior Dance Team (Varsity & JV): Girls’ Main Locker Room *Rising Stars will change in their noted locker rooms but will then meet in the stairwell of the back
corner of the gym (behind the curtain – south west corner)
JFK Dancers are not allowed in the Kixter (Warrior Dance Team) locker room (Girls’ Main locker room). Thank you.

• Pre – 1st – ½ up and curly. • 2nd and older – Left part, low bun. No bangs.
If you have a hair piece with your costume please make sure that it is securely in place and does not fall out. Here is a helpful hint from one dance mom for how to fasten a headband type hairpiece:
Here we hot glued bobby pins and then crisscrossed more bobby pins in their hair and had them shake their head all around and it didn't move at all.
You can also take safety pins and attach on inside of headband and bobby pin through the pin to the hair to hold the headband in place.
GOT TIGHTS? Check for tights, shoes, barrette (or hair piece), etc. Be sure you have everything you need for your performance in advance.
Dancers are encouraged to lay out all show items and get them organized at least one week before the show, to avoid last minute panic.
The ONLY ticket table to purchase show tickets the day of the show, will be at the South Doors. Anyone that did not purchase presale tickets will need to purchase at the south door admission table.
If you have presale tickets you can head right to the gym doors on the day of the show.
PRE SHOW MEETING for 2-12th GRADE DANCERS Meet in the swimming hallway, outside the pool area windows and next to the swim bleachers 30 minutes prior to show start time.
