Cascade CampThecampersareenjoyingtheirtimeawayatcampintherainforestsofCascade.Itistrulypeacefultolistentothesoundsofnaturearoundus(afterthekidsareasleepofcourse!).Wehadaverybusydayyesterdaywhichstartedwitha3kmwalkwithlotsofnaturegamesandfinishedwithafuntimelastnightwithsomePictionaryandCharades.Thestudents,andinparticularSaskia,arenowveryskilfulatdealingwithleechesandticksofwhichwe’veseenafew.It’samazinghowquicklywebecomeadeptathandlingtheselittleculpritsafterlearningtheirtraits.Overallthekidshavehadareallygoodtimeandlearntagreatdealaboutlifeintherainforestandthehistoryofthissmalltimbertown.Theyhavealsostrengthenedtheirsocialrelationshipsincludingtheirabilitytoworkasateam.I’msuretherewillbemanystoriestotell.

Movie NightAsitturnedoutthedecisiontocallofftheMovieNightlastSaturdaywasindeedafortuitousone.Ithasn’tbeendecidedwhenthenightwillnowbeheldbutatthisstageitseemsunlikelythatwewillfindasparedateinourdiaryintheremainderofthistermwithChristmasfunctionsalreadyontheagendaofmanyfamilies.TheP&Cwilltalksoonandwillmakeadecision.

Intensive SwimmingThankyoutotheparentsandstudentsfortheircooperationwiththisweek’schangeofvenueforourswimmingschemeprogram.Thesechangescertainlyweren’tplannedandweappreciateallinvolvedinmakingthisasmoothprocess.IthasbeendecidedthatwewillcontinueattheEvansHeadpoolfortheremainderoftheswimmingprogram.Forthosefamiliesthatarepayingfortnightly,couldyoupleasefinalisethebalancetomorrow.

Macadamia CastleJustareminderthatpaymentandpermissionnoteforK/1/2/excursiontotheMacadamiaCastleonFriday7thDecemberisrequiredbyThursday 29th November.

Celebrations UnitIhaveaskedallofthestudentstobringinaphotoofthemselvesataspecialcelebratione.gabirthday,Christmas,weddingetc.forour‘Celebrations’Display.Wewillbetalkingandwritingaboutthespecialcelebration.Photoswillbescannedandsenthomeassoonaspossible.Theymayalsobesentinonathumbdriveore-mailedtoourschoole-mailifthat’seasier.PleasesendasuitablephotoASAP.
