Environmental Data
Local Surface Transportation
Parkview Road – TSP• Unsignalized Intersection with a LOS – F.• Install two egress lanes (left‐turn and
right‐turn lane) for Parkview Drive, install southbound left‐turn pocket on US 101 for deceleration, and install a southbound acceleration lane on US 101 for Parkview Drive left‐turn traffic.
• The City will continue to look for opportunities to study Parkview Drive and the Brookings Airport Area, including the adjacent Harris Beach State Park property.
• The area would benefit from an area plan due to several deficiencies and multiple surrounding land uses.
• Rebuild Airport Road as a cut-and-cover tunnel to avoid the RPZ of KBOK.
Airport Zoning
Zoning Jurisdictions
City of Brookings Zoning• POS – Public Open Space
• Purpose of this district is to recognize, preserve and enhance publicly owned space
• Permitted Use - Existing airport facilities including expansion and accessory uses intended for the convenience of airport customers
• AA – Airport Approach Overlay Zone
• Similar to Curry County Overlay Zone
Curry County Zoning• Airport Related Areas Overlay
Zone (AR)• Purpose: to prevent the
establishment of airspace obstructions in airport approaches and surrounding areas through height restrictions and other land use controls as deemed essential to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people of the County.

Runway Extension?
Is a 300’ extension feasible or justified?
Taxiways/Taxilanes
Taxiways/Taxilanes
Aprons/Tiedowns
Airport users have expressed a need to better delineate aircraft parking areas for
itinerate aircraft and identify a better location for air cargo
operations.
Pavement Conditions • May 2019 Evaluation• Apron/Taxilane areas
reconstructed in 2010/2012• Keep an eye on Parallel T/W

PAC Identified Hangar Condition Analysis
Airport Fencing
Vehicle Parking
• 9 stalls outside the fence/gate• Unmarked space for 8 or more vehicles
inside the fence/adjacent to FBO• Does the PAC have any specific
concerns with current vehicle parking?
Airport Surface Roads• Single access point on
east side• Mix of gravel roads and
airside pavement surfaces accommodate on airport circulation
• FAA may be opposed to mix of aircraft and vehicles on airside pavements
• Preferred access point on west side will be identified in alternatives process
Utilities
• Water (blue) and Sanitary Sewer (green)
• Electrical on Airport not depicted
• No major issues identified
• Expect system expansion and improvements as necessary
• Any improvements we should be thinking about?
