Full Mobile Number Portability (FMNP) is the facility for users to switch to any mobile operator, all over
India while retaining their existing mobile number.
The users of 2G & 3G Prepaid, 2G & 3G Post-paid (GSM/CDMA ) can port (switch) the number.
SIM card and all services on the mobile connection will change and will be provided by BSNL.
Port in means getting into & Port out means getting out of. Port-in Charges is „Nil‟ in BSNL.
SIM Cost & Activation Charges will be applicable for Prepaid & Post-paid.
Steps for availing MNP
I. Contact the nearest BSNL Office.
II. Obtain UPC (Unique Porting Code) by sending SMS “PORT <10 digit Mob number>” from the
mobile number you want to port to the number „1900‟.
(Instruction for CSCs: UPC Code of Reliance with 2nd digit N, G, J are not accepted now)
III. Fill up the CAF & Porting Form and submit to the BSNL Office.
IV. Obtain the new SIM Card.
V. The date & time of porting will be intimated to you.
VI. Change over takes place within 15 days.
