The non official start to summer has already arrived, the rain has finally stopped, and now after the long harsh winter it is time to enjoy the warm weather. I find that this time of year is a great opportunity to get outdoors and meet people in the com-munity; a great way to do that is to join the Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee. The Committee meets throughout the year and gives you an opportunity to introduce yourself in person to other business owners.

I would like to thank all of the Volunteers that came out and helped with Spring Clean up day. We had two teams, one Chamber team tackled Kirby Plaza, and team Applebee’s cleaned Kisco Ave. Thanks so much everyone.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Mt. Kisco Sales Days, September 17 &18th. This year our goal is to bring out the community and make it an even bigger event than in the past. Please look for the e-mails and flyers. We will have several sponsor-ship opportunities this year; please contact us if you are interested in participating. This year Events To Remember will help us run the event, Chereese Jervis-Hill and her team is going to assist with marketing the event and make it the most success-ful Sales Days to date!

My term as president of the Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce is coming to an end. I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past two years. The Chamber has been through a lot during the past two years: we survived the financial crisis, great recession and some rough weather. But the one thing that never faltered was the perseverance of our businessowners and leaders in Mt. Kisco. We are all very lucky to live or work in Mt. Kisco with such fine people.

The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce is holding its 2011 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Mount Kisco Public Library prior to the June Member Meeting. The Annual Meeting will begin at 11:30 am; the June Member Meeting will begin at noon. One of the items on the Agenda is the election of the Board of Directors.

Once again the chamber assisted the Beautification Committee in their efforts to spruce up Mount Kisco in time for the Memorial Day Parade.

This year we had so many volunteers that we cleaned two areas of town. One team was responsible for cleaning Kirby Plaza. The other team, composed of volunteers from Applebee’s, was responsible for parts of Kisco Ave.
