EMPLOYMENT AND SKILLSThe newly formed Employment and Skills Team has been working to help improve skill levels and increase good, long lasting employment prospects and opportunities for Tameside residents.

Supporting businesses to employ and upskill our young people through schemes and grants is a significant part of our achieving this goal.

Tameside Businesses which employ an Apprentice or create a job at the Living Wage will receive a grant of £1,500.

A Tameside Business + £1,500 TBGE +max. £3,500 GM AGE = £5,000

Minimum £3,000 and maximum £5,000 for employing an Apprentice aged 16-24 yrs old

TAMESIDE BUSINESS GRANT FOR EMPLOYERS (TBGE)

TRADE GRANTUp to £1,000 is available to 16 to 24 year olds who are:

• An apprentice within a Trade Business

• Starting up a Trade business in Tameside

The grant can pay for tools of the trade, specialist equipment or even a deposit on a work van.

TAMESIDE YESEmploy a Tameside young person aged 16-24 years old and not in employment, education or training and be reimbursed for 6 months of the salary.

Tameside YES - Supporting apprenticeship and non-apprenticeship roles
