Research Method

A survey was conducted among the students of Dual Country Program batch (2012-14) to gauge the opinion of students on our research question. For this a questionnaire was prepared and the responses of 96 students were recorded.

Results and Analysis

1) The one way t-test to compare if there is any difference between performance with respect to quantitative and qualitative subject between fresher and work-ex.

But seeing the significance level values we can’t reject that they is considerable difference between the performances.

2) Now doing the paired t-test between the statics comprehend and statics relevancy, and the same for EBC we get an interesting result. Majority think that EBC is easy to comprehend and therefore more relevant whereas, stats was hard to understand and

therefore they were not feeling it to be relevant.

3) Two way anova with independent variables as work-ex and gender, and dependent variable as total result. Girls who were fresher have outperformed the boys who had no work-ex. It was vice versa among the population with work-ex.But overall the average of the performance was almost same.

4) This t-test shows that people with work-ex were finding stats difficult to understand compared to the people with no work-ex.

5) Nothing concrete can be said about whether this two categories of people experience different level of pressure.

Assumptions, Limitations & Scope of Research

Assumption – Marks are a true reflection of a student’s performance

Scope of research – Learning refers only to academic learning

Limitations 1. Ratio of male to female was very high (5:1)2. We had data (marks) for only one term3. Long time span between the 1st term and the time of conducting the survey, so

respondents’ true feelings about the subjects may be distorted.
