than any other region in the UK and up from 16% ten years ago
21% of total successful exits were completed in Scotland, more than
any other region including 2nd placed London at 18%
BUT In contrast to our performance in HERD, business R&D expenditure (BERD)

The Challenge
From start up to scale up requires:
1. People – a management team with entrepreneurial experience and
ambition - we need to both develop the skills for growth and align
entrepreneurial talent with a track record of scaling companies in global
markets to innovative ideas. Innovation + Entrepreneurship = potential to
grow companies of scale.
2. Growth funding – access to Series A £1- £5m plus funding to provide
sufficient growth capital to accelerate growth and anchor the company in
Scotland
We provide intensive support in preparing the business for Series A – honing
a compelling propositions and supporting companies in better promotion
and investor engagement.
