The bachelor’s degree in business from Penn State incorporates case studies of real-world business problems, along with organizational and business theory, so that the skills you are developing can be applied directly to today’s business challenges. The course work focuses on case studies and practical applications that you can begin to implement immediately at your workplace.

By earning this degree, you can prepare for positions such as:

In addition to the core business courses, you can choose to pursue one of three 18-credit options to deepen your knowledge in the field that interests you most:

AccountingBusiness professionals with a thorough preparation in accounting and finance are increasingly in demand. This accounting option focuses on such topics as taxation, auditing, managerial accounting, and financial accounting and analysis.

The skills you acquire in this option can help you gain a significant advantage at your current or future place of employment. Marketing and ManagementThis option gives you an opportunity to explore such topics as management, human resources, communication, conflict resolution, leadership and motivation, advertising and promotion, sales, consumer behavior, and global marketing.

By choosing courses either in management, marketing, or both, you can combine your previous experience and business knowledge with these specialized topics to become an expert in your chosen field.

Individualized The individualized option draws from courses in different disciplines to create a business-focused plan of study. This plan is developed in conjunction with your adviser and must be approved by the program coordinator upon your admission to the program.

Bachelor of Science in Business OptionsBachelor of Science in Business Curriculum

The bachelor of science in business program requires you to complete 120 credits to finish your degree. The number of credits you must earn will depend on how many courses you transfer into the program upon admission.

The curriculum of the program is designed to build on your previous experience and success and help you strengthen your knowledge in all core business areas. Some of the courses in the curriculum include:
