WELCOME WAGON The following new owners have recently joined our community. Woolbridge, Lloyd & Connie - 7626 Independ-ence Virjerud, Lars - 7681 Shenandoah Johnson, Mark - 7967 Continental

The last board members meeting on April 19, 2017 had a great turn out. One of the items on the agenda was to not allow outside agencies/organizations the future use of the Association Clubhouse.

The commitment of allowing the club-house to be rented out fell directly on the Clubhouse Director. He would have the responsibility of contacting other volun-teers on setting up the seating arrange-ments and be present when opening and closing the building. The volunteers would have to return sometime after and reset the tables and chairs.

Our organization is non-profit and addi-tional monies would help run our organi-zation, but it will put a dependency on our volunteers who are hard to find and it’s not our position to have the volun-teers go out of their way every time we rent out the clubhouse. In house func-tions are for Cambridge residents.

The Board voted not to allow outside agencies or organizations to rent the clubhouse.

As everyone knows the Board of Direc-tors has attempted to update the Associ-ation By-Laws and individual section

Covenants to comply with the ever changing situations in our community.

The final vote on the April 19, 2017 member meeting showed the majority of voting members did approve the changes to the By-laws.

The most important vote was the change on each Cambridge section Covenants, #1 #2 & #3, to prevent outside LLC/Agencies from purchas-ing property in Cambridge and renting or leasing that property before owning said property for 2 years. That did not pass, due to a lack of votes. This means the present Covenants for each section, #1, #2 & #3, remains the same.

I wish to thank the volunteers who made a great effort to hand deliver the voting package to each of the mem-bers’ homes.

The board has also voted to move the next Board of Directors meeting to May 3, 2017 at 7PM

Although the office will be closed from May thru August, there will be Board members available if a problem does arise.

I wish all of Cambridge members and renters a safe and great summer.

Bob Souza, President

PICK YOUR PROTEIN Protein helps maintain muscle mass, fight off infec-tion and enhance metabolism. For most Ameri-cans, about 45 to 55 grams a day is recommended. Meat and poultry are full of protein, but the nonlean types can also be loaded with saturated fat and cholesterol. Swap in other protein-rich foods in-stead, such as: Seafood - Consider substituting seafood for

meat twice a week. Canned fish and frozen fil-lets are great to have on hand for everyday meals. For special occasions, try salmon or shrimp.

Eggs - Eggs contain all the protein compo-nents you need. Put a poached egg over salad, wild rice or whole-grain toast and you have a meal. Hard-boiled eggs make great snacks. Eggs contain saturated fat, so aim for no more than one a day, on average.

Dairy - Fat-free milk and milk products provide calcium and vitamin D, but also pack a nice pro-tein punch. Try Greek yogurt with honey or fresh fruit. Spread ricotta on toast and top with fruit. If you don’t like cow’s mile, try soy milk.

Beans, peas and tofu - Dried, canned or fro-zen beans are an inexpensive protein option and have the added bonus of fiber and high lev-els of antioxidants. Add to salads, pastas, soups and casseroles. Tofu is a soy-based source of protein you can add to soups, stir-fries and even scrambled eggs.

Nuts and seeds - A handful of unsalted, roast-ed nuts is a healthy serving of protein. Spread nut butters over crackers or toast for a protein-filled snack.

NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH By Joe Chippari

If you didn’t attend the last Sheriff’s Department Barbeque in Hobe Sound you missed a very good time. Besides having great hamburgers & hot dogs, we were entertained with a Helicopter, vari-ous other interesting vehicles, and a MC Fire En-gine that the children were allowed to sit inside and be a voluntary Fireman (Firewoman). If you missed it I would strongly suggest you don’t miss the next one. I’ll try to keep you posted. Just last night Sheila received one of those “your computer has a virus and you will lose all your files if you power off………call this toll-free number to fix it now.” You all know the scam I am talking about. Now on my computer (Toshiba) I hit the ‘alt/ctrl/del’ keys together keeping all 3 down at the same time. I then select ‘Task Management’. All the tasks that I have running at the time are reflected on the screen. I select my web provider that is displayed as one of the tasks. I then click on ‘end task’ and

my problem went away. THIS IS NOT A VALID COMPUTER PROBLEM. IT IS A SCAM. It will happen to you multiple times as did my wife’s computer. Last night was about her 3rd or 4th time in just a couple of months. Stay safe
