89.7 NPR News & Classical 101 Highlights
The All-Day NPR News Station
This spring will be a pivotal time for education in Columbus and Ohio. Governor John Kasich has proposed a dramatic shift in the way the state funds public schools. The plan aims to provide the same educational opportunities for all Ohio students, regardless of zip code. Private school vouchers and charter schools will see an expanded role. Columbus City Schools is set to hire a new superintendent.
89.7 NPR News is ready to help you make sense of it. On the state level, our education reporting team at State Impact Ohio covers the state’s schools from every angle. Molly Bloom and Ida Lieszkovszky will not only keep listeners and online-readers abreast of each development in the debate, they will make sense of the complicated formulas and rules, explaining how it impacts your children, community and tax bill. The WOSU News Team will cover the upcoming change in leadership at the Columbus City Schools, as well as explain what changes in state education policy and funding mean for Central Ohio districts.
89.7 NPR News, your all-day NPR News station, and wosu.org, will be the best sources for you to track all the school changes this spring.
