CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL, NOIDA MONTHLY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 CAMPUS NEWS ANNUAL DAY Honouring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, Cambridge School, Noida organised Annual Day along with Prize Distribution Ceremony for the session 2020-21 with great zeal on 4 th September,2021. The occasion was graced by the hon’ble Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India and Managing Partner of India’s first environmental law firm. In addition, many dignitaries and distinguished members of the management committee also graced the event. The programme commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp amidst a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty, followed by the school song by the students of the school choir. The Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan, accorded a warm welcome to the guests and acknowledged the remarkable achievements and efforts of the students in scholastic domain amidst Covid-19 pandemic. The Principal also praised the collaborative spirit of the management, staff, students and parents that empowered the school towards quality education during the pandemic. The Annual Report was presented by the students of Cambridge School, Noida, chronicling the institution’s achievements during the academic session 2020-21. It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the meritorious results of the students of class X and XII in board examination. The highlight of the event was the Indian Classical Bharatanatyam dance and the Ballet dance performance by the young performers of Cambridge School. ANNUAL DAY

Honouring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, Cambridge School, Noida organised Annual

Day along with Prize Distribution Ceremony for the session 2020-21 with great zeal on 4th September,2021.

The occasion was graced by the hon’ble Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay, Advocate on Record,

Supreme Court of India and Managing Partner of India’s first environmental law firm. In addition, many

dignitaries and distinguished members of the management committee also graced the event.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp amidst a prayer to invoke the

TEACHER’S DAY

The occasion of Teacher’s Day was celebrated on Saturday, 4thSeptember 2021 in Cambridge School

Noida, Senior Wing with vigour and enthusiasm. Activities for the entire day were planned by the students.

In the morning, a special assembly was conducted in each class where the students wished their teachers

and expressed their gratitude. A pre-recorded video showcasing performances and messages by the

students was also played. The celebrations continued with the senior students inviting the teachers to a

fun-filled programme where they were engaged in many games and activities. A very entertaining round of

jeopardy game was also organised which was the highlight of the show. Team Science won the first prize.

The day ended with a wonderful video paying tribute to the teachers by the students of class XII.

BOOK WEEK

To celebrate the joy of reading books, Cambridge School, Noida observed the Book Week from 6th

September 2021 to 10th September2021.

A plethora of activities were conducted which included Book Reviews, Creative Writing, Poetry Recitation,

German Skit Presentation, Sanskrit Role Play, French Creative Writing, interesting facts about English

language, Poster Making etc. The students of classes VI- XII participated enthusiastically and showcased

their creative skills.

The weeklong extravaganza, full of fun and learning ended with a virtual valedictory function on 10th

September 2021.

The whole idea behind this activity was to enhance students’ explorative thinking skills, sharpen the LSRW

(Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills and to improve the correct usage of spoken language, as

Sir Francis Bacon rightly said, READING MAKETH A FULL MAN.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAMME SEPTEMBER 2021

Under the aegis of the Generation Global Programme, the students worked on an exciting Dialogue series

project which gave them an excellent opportunity to learn about the global issues linked with the United

Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The following students were awarded Appreciation

On 15th September 2021, students from class IX participated in a videoconference with students from

United Arab Emirates, Australia and the USA. The students shared their perspectives on the causes and

effects of climate change. They reflected on the impact of climate change and discussed the different ways

in which one can help in preventing or minimizing the ill-effects of climate change.

Ms. Anubha Rawat attended webinars conducted by the British Council on 4th and 5th September 2021. The

two-day programme focused on practical skills to manage the teaching and learning during and after the

pandemic.

As part of the Teacher Advisory Group, Ms. Anubha Rawat interacted with the ‘Generation Global Teacher

Community’ across the globe, on the progress and future development of its online education programme.

BAYAAN SESSIONS

The first session on the topic Stereotypes: A Stamp on One's Identity was held on 3rd September 2021.

It began with everyone's common experiences of being stereotyped in some way or another because of

their culture. The participants discussed how and why cultural stereotypes have become mainstream and

have been normalised. Taking it forward the role of mass media in popularising these stereotypes was

discussed. In conclusion, the participants talked about ways to cope up with these stereotypes and curb

them. The session which was very enthusiastic, and enriching was conducted by Shubhangi Petshali, Swati

Madhu Sudanan, Vrinda Goel and Khushi Arora.

On 17th September 2021, members of class XI participated in a session on Exam Stress. It started with the

members discussing how not only their mental health but also their physical health deteriorates during

exams. Further, they discussed alternatives to the current examination system. Towards the end, everyone

shared tips and tricks for the exam season and how they stay on track. It was a very fruitful discussion

conducted by Ishi Pandey, Khushi Arora, Shubhangi Petshali, Swati Madhu Sudanan and Vrinda Goel

CONDUCT OF EXAMS Preboard I for class X was conducted based on the latest CBSE guidelines. OMR sheets were used by the

students to answer the same. First Term board practicals was conducted in all subjects for class XII. A

mock examination was also held for most of the subjects in Class XII to help students understand their

strength and weaknesses. All examinations were conducted smoothly.

Periodic Assessment II was held for Classes VII- IX and XI in the month of August & September.

First Terminal Examination for Classes VII & VIII was conducted from 20thSeptember 2021 to 4th October

2021 and for Classes IX & XI it is scheduled from 11th October 2021.

First Term practicals were held for Class XI in the month of September & October.

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS

SHRI RAM DEBATING WORKSHOP

Pragya Joshi (XIIA), Shashank (XA), Ipshita Awadhiya (XA) ,Prakhar Ranjan Sahu (XE), Eshaan Sinha

(XE), Rithwik Sriram (XE), Maithily Nautiyal (XE), Saanvi Nayan (IXB),G Sree Lekshmi (IXB) Jhanvi Raj

(IXB), Aditi Parihar (IXC) attended the Shri Ram Debating Workshop organised by Shri Ram College of

Commerce, Delhi, from 6th September to 12th September 2021, for a duration of 2 hours every day post

school hours. The workshop delved into the finer nuances of debating via guest lectures, interactive

sessions and engaging activities. It was a great learning experience for the students who also participated

in a mock debate session on the last day of the workshop.

CASE STUDY PRESENTATION ON ZOMATO IPO

Students of Entrepreneurship and Commerce presented a case study on Zomato IPO on 22nd September

21. It was an enriching session which provided detailed information about IPOs and specifically about

Zomato IPO. The students understood the technicalities of an IPO and what they should watch for before

making any investment decisions in stocks. The session was attended by around 70 students of class XI

and XII. Ms. Sumathy Raghunath, Ms. Preeti Sharma and Mr. Rajesh Mahajan of Commerce department

attended the same. The session was graced by the Principal, Ms. Preeti Sangwan who shared her valuable

inputs about Zomato IPO. It was an exploratory activity with enjoyable learning experience.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP BY E-CELL IIT BOMBAY

As part of Eureka! Junior Business Plan Competition, E-Cell, IIT Bombay conducted a workshop on

Entrepreneurship on 23rd September 2021. The speaker for the session was Mr. Puneet Ahuja., an

entrepreneur with 15 years of work experience across various industry domains. He has started three

companies and has in-depth project management and execution capabilities excelling in start-up

environments. The workshop was attended by 75 children of class XI and XII along with Ms. Preeti

Sharma, Ms. Anikini Dhall and few other teachers. The workshop enabled children to understand and

appreciate various aspects of Entrepreneurship.

ACHIEVEMENTS

CBSE READ INDIA CELEBRATION Harsidak Singh (Class XE) and G Sree Lekshmi (Class IXB) participated in CBSE Read India Celebration

(RIC) in association with Republic Media Network. The competition was a wonderful opportunity for the

students to engage in a transformative non-academic reading, problem solving and leadership experience

during 2021. They have also received ‘Certificate of Appreciation’.

ICAI COMMERCE QUIZ 2021

Vaibhav Kumar of X-C secured 12th Rank in ICAI Commerce QUIZ 2021 held online on 5th September

2021. He has been awarded a cash prize of Rs.2000/-. The ICAI is the second largest professional body of

Chartered Accountants in the world. There were participants from 21 countries for the ICAI Commerce

Quiz.

CAPACITY BUILDING FOR TEACHERS

STIMULATING INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM, ART AND CULTURE

Held on 16th September 2021, the Webinar on Stimulating Indian Knowledge System, Arts and Culture as a

part of Shikshak Parv 2021 advocated a complete overhaul of the Indian education system and the

inevitability of redesigning learning with emphasis on the national context encompassing unity in diversity.

Speakers were Mr. Rabin Chhetri, Prof. Saroj Sharma, Prof. Girishwar Mishra, Dr. Ameeta Wattal, and Dr.

Praveen Kumar Tiwari from multiple domains, institutions and locations. The speakers analysed the rich

heritage of learning and achievements across subjects that our country has and observed that the current

generation would benefit from inducting several such unexplored achievements in contemporary learning

and skill development. Mr. Shah, who chaired the webinar underlined the need for drawing from the Indian

treasure trove of knowledge, amalgamated with global best practices and enlightening the world as never

before. The webinar was attended by Ms. Jaya Pathak, it concluded with a short discussion on the need

for Indians to feel proud of having inherited gems of civilization nurtured in India since long.

E-WASTE MANAGEMENT WEBINAR

A webinar on E-waste Management was organized on 3rd September 2021 by Cambridge School to create

an awareness among its staff members about the hazardous effects on health and environment due to

improper disposal of e-waste. The resource person Mr Praveen Kumar, Director, Adatte E-waste

Management Pvt. Ltd. gave a detailed explanation on how the e-waste is collected, dismantled, and

recycled. He also discussed the cons of throwing the household e-waste in the normal garbage and selling

it to the scrap dealers. He gave suggestions for responsible disposal and recycling. It was indeed an

enlightening session.

CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Teachers attended various workshops conducted by Centres of Excellence of CBSE. Each teacher

attended a minimum of five workshops during the month.
