Mining Technicians Group Australia

History

▪ Mining Technicians Group Australia was formed in 2008 to meet the need for the specialist skills required to install and maintain aftermarket auto electrical technology products in heavy mobile machinery on minesites

▪ MTGA worked on the first autonomous trucking (Autonomous Haulage System – AHS) into the Pilbara region during 2008 and has since been involved in multiple AHS projects in Western Australia, and overseas

▪ We responded to the increased need for reliable data services on remote minesites by producing a hardy and rugged WiFi communications trailer which is now the accepted standard for minesites across Australia

▪ MTGA are the only specialist, product agnostic installer, commissioner and maintainer of technology products in Australia

▪ Our team consists of a number of highly trained heavy equipment technicians, auto-electricians, communications technicians and boilermakers, experienced in aftermarket technology and communications

▪ MTGA technicians have installed a wide range of aftermarket technology and communication products into all types of mobile plant including primary production fleet, ancillary equipment and light vehicles

▪ We provide operating support and maintain, upgrades and re-locate equipment

Installation & Commissioning

▪ We install and commission a range of aftermarket products into mobile plant including:

– Mobile machinery dispatch (fleet management) and autonomous drive systems

– High precision GPS, proximity sensing and machine guidance devices

– Tyre pressure monitoring systems

– In vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS & HVMS)

Site Surveys

▪ MTGA recognise the importance of network coverage and reliability to achieve results from technology and data reliant technologies

▪ We conduct site surveys to reveal coverage issues or bandwidth restrictions that cause unforeseen down time and data loss, often incurring significant production cost

▪ We provide recommendation on rectifying issues from a change in structural layout to hardware management

Mobile Infrastructure

▪ MTGA manufacture and maintain a series of rugged wireless solar power trailers available in three sizes, along with lighting units and boom gate systems.

▪ We support these devices and work with management onsite performing maintenance, moves and optimisation

What We Do

Portable Power Infrastructure

▪ MTGA manufacture a series of semi-portable power and communication units available in two sizes, 500 and 1000 series skid.

▪ These units are designed to be self sufficient requiring minimal maintenance

Engineering

▪ MTGA have in house engineering capability performing enhancement to current products, development of new products and customer requested engineering.

▪ Our core capabilities include electrical, mechanical and mechatronic engineering

Fabrication

▪ We specialise in commercial and industrial fabrication, light to heavy steel fabrication including aluminium, stainless steel, laser cutting and powder coating

▪ We perform all fabrication and construction in house for MTGA supplied products.

WiFi Trailers

WiFi Trailers

▪ We manufacture a light, medium and heavy duty trailer

▪ Trailers have a 6 – 12 metre tall mast, solar panels with battery backup, mine specification for immediate site use

▪ Over 400 trailers are on more than 20 minesites across Australia

Our three models of wireless network solar power trailers are the industry

standard in Western Australian minesites.

MTGA boom-gate solutions are deployed to isolate the autonomous zone and

maintain separation between manned and unmanned fleets, in order to

eliminate hazardous interactions. The boom is operated in cab via remote.

Our semi-portable 1000 series LTE base stations are forging the way in long

range communications solutions for remote mining operations - for when a

standard WIFI network isn’t enough

Featuring easily retractable rugged aluminium mast, coming fully equipped with network capability to support LTE (Long Term Evolution or 4G) network, microwave backhaul, two way and AM/FM communications

1000 Series Skid

The personal safety device (PSD) charging units are rugged, modular and

stackable in design ensuring that devices are securely and easily stored and

full charge maintained. In vehicle units are also available

The SAB unit, tailored to customer requirements, comprises required
