Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for

the American Cancer Society. Its mission is to raise funds to improve cancer survival, decrease the incidence of cancer, and improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their caretakers. The Neighbors of Alta Vista will sponsor a wine basket in memory of our friend Sheila McFeeley to be donated to the April 7th fundraising event. We will set up a jar at the March 3rd Pot Luck for donations to purchase items for the basket.

Our Alta Vista Neighbors enjoyed a delightful evening of wonderful food and camaraderie. Kudos to Vivian & Ken Aber for hosting and to Barbara McDonald for arranging our gathering.

Alta Vista Annual Dining Out Event

Please mark your Calendars for our Third Annual Dining Out event, set for Saturday April 13th. This special event comes only once a year, so you will want to be there.

The Restaurant we have selected for this annual event is Tanner’s Lakeside Restaurant set on the beautiful Lake Howard in Winter Haven. Dinner will start at 6 PM, and if you like to linger and mingle, a band is set up to start at 8 PM for those who would like to dance under the stars along the water.

We have arranged a $25 meal which will include a Salad, Roasted Potatoes, a vegetable, a Non-alcoholic Beverage and Gratuity. The entrée choices on our special Menu will include a Steak, Fish, Chicken, or a Vegetarian dish.

We are expecting more than 60+ residents to attend, so please mark your calendars and be prepared to mix with your neighbors over a great meal in one of Winter Haven’s most visited restaurant.

RSVP to Douglas Gummere at [email protected]. Final Menu Selections will be distributed by March 20th, where you will be asked to select your Entrée Selection. You will not want to be left behind, so let Doug know that you plan to attend ASAP.
