Foreword

Capture Arkansas Staff Grand Prize

Two years ago, we decided to have a little fun and publish a coffee-table-worthy book featuring photographs of Arkansas by Arkansans.

We had such a good time, and the end result was so beautiful, we decided to do it again! And guess what? Once more, we were amazed at the talent and the creativity and the “eye” of Arkansas’ ama-teur and professional photographers, and once more, we are proud to bring you the results.

Capture Arkansas does just that — it captures the

places and faces that make this state unique and that make this state a great place to call home.

You snapped, you shared, you voted for your favorites online. In a big way. The numbers are overwhelming:

✚ 2,061 photographers

✚ 63,774 photos

✚ 3,027,928 votes

Now you can sit back and enjoy.

This piece of art — and that is indeed what it is — would not have been possible without the support of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, a vibrant online community and our generous sponsors: Bedford Camera & Video, Central Arkansas Library System, Garvan Woodland Gardens and Heifer International. Please thank them for their participation at your first opportunity.

Now, turn the page and prepare to be awed.
