Cardinal Acoustics panels are composed of poplar wood fiber fiber, with a magnesium oxide cement-like binder, and are formed in an individual batch process using heat and pressure. The resulting product is durable, attractive, easily decorated and Class A/Class I rated with a flame spread and smoke spread of 0, in accordance with ASTM E-84.

These wood fiber acoustical panels are easy to install and work with – perfect for every environment from new construction to remodeling – anywhere acoustic absorption, toughness and flexible design is needed. Cardinal Acoustics panels efficiently absorb up to 100% of sound and stand up to daily abuse in high traffic, high use areas.

R A W M A T E R I A L SOnly quality materials are used in Cardinal Acoustics cementitious wood fiber fiber panels. We start with wood fibers from poplar trees in New Zealand and join them together with a magnesium oxide cement-like binder. Our panels are asbestos and fungus free, and not harmful to the environment. They can be painted up to 3 times without losing any of their absorption ability, are very easy to install and can be shipped anywhere in the United States within 2 to 4 weeks.

Factory finishes include white, painted natural, or natural unfinished. We can also produce custom colors from any paint manufacturer’s palette.

All Cardinal Acoustics products start with a base cementitious wood fiber fiber panel, with an NRC rating of 0.45—1.00 depending on the mounting method. Contact us for a spreadsheet to calculate the NRC needed for a specific space.

These panels, in addition to their acoustic qualities, resist abuse, and are easily installed in new construction or existing buildings. All our panels have a Class A flame and smoke spread rating.

L I G H T R E F L E C T A N C E

Panel reflectance allows the use of indirect lighting which is highly preferred for professional and educational environments, especially those using computer screens. In white or natural, the light reflectance is .75/.60 respectively.

CARDINAL ACOUSTICS STANDARD INTERIOR PANELStandard interior wood fiber panels are perfect for churches, restaurants, schools – anywhere an economical solution to noise is needed. These panels are lightweight and resist abuse. They can easily be installed in new construction or in an existing building for effective sound control, achieving a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of up to 1.00.

All panels are available in standard and beveled edge. Beveled edge panels are recommended in any situation where two Cardinal Acoustics panels come in contact with each other.

CARDINAL COMPLETE INTERIOR PANELWhen your space requires the highest possible noise absorption, Cardinal Complete wood fiber panels are the solution. These panels have an NRC of .85 or .90 and are ideal for areas like gymnasiums, theaters, or restaurants. The panels have spacer strips already attached plus a layer of insulation to absorb more sound.

Cardinal Complete interior panels are prefabricated to provide ease of installation. In lieu of the C-20 or C-40 mounting method, these panels achieve the same result and only require the direct attached A mount. Additionally, they provide extra noise reduction and are available in standard and beveled edge. Beveled edge panels are recommended in any situation where two Cardinal Acoustics panels come in contact with each other.

These art style wood fiber wall panels are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, including triangles, squares, rectangles, right and left parallelograms, circles and hexagons. Create artistic patterns and designs and get acoustical absorption at the same time. The panels are available in white, painted natural, or natural unfinished. They can be customized to colors of all paint manufacturers. Cardinal Creative panels install easily with any necessary fastener depending on the structure to which the panel is to be attached.

LAY-IN CEILING PANELSLay-in ceiling panels provide the durability and noise reduction qualities of our other wood fiber panels in an easy-to-install, easy-to-maintain lay-in form. Compared to a mineral fiber lay-in panel our ceiling panels are abuse proof, sag resistant, and offer a limited lifetime warranty against breakage.

REVEALED EDGE CEILING PANELSCardinal Acoustics Revealed Edge wood fiber ceiling panels are available in two form options. The first is a lay-in panel where the face is rabbeted to provide a 13/32” reveal below the grid in 1” panels, while the second is a 3/4” reveal below the grid in 1-1/2” panels.

HANGING BAFFLESHanging baffles are a trending product for a different aesthetic appearance in your ceiling application. Our wood fiber hanging baffles are extremely durable and can be painted in an attractive finish. Panels hang vertically either with inserts or a galvanized channel, and are available in 1” or 1-1/2” thicknesses.

CLOUD PANELSCircle and Square Clouds are an ideal and attractive way to reduce noise. These 1½ inch thick wood fiber panels are fabricated by Cardinal Acoustics with T profiles cut so that the installer can simply slide the main T into the profile. It can then be attached to whatever structure is above using hanging wire. These 1½ inch thick wood fiber panels are available in lengths up to 8 feet, and in 2 and 4-foot widths.

All baffles over 4’ in length must be secured with a metal channel which is then attached to the substrate above. Cardinal Acoustics can provide the 16-gauge metal U channel with with 3” legs. The U channel is sanded and primed so that it can be factory or field painted to match the panel color. All channels are pre-drilled for a simple field installation.

MOUNTINGS FOR CARDINAL CEILING PANELSCardinal Direct-Attached panels can be mechanically attached to a variety of ceiling substrates which include the underside of the roof deck; the joists and other support members; drywall suspension systems; metal and wood furring structures; and other commonly used support systems. Panels should be placed in a brick pattern.

MOUNTINGS FOR CARDINAL COMPLETEThe Cardinal Complete panel is composed of a 5/8” or 1” baseboard with 1” of furring along the perimeter of the backside. The backside cavity is filled with a sound absorbing material. This panel is prefabricated at the plant for a simple one step installation. No additional furring or fiberglass is needed, and the panel is direct-attached right to the wall or ceiling.
