L’emozionante volo dell’Angelo in Piazza San Marco e i cortei acquei che da Punta della Dogana attraversano tutto il Canal Grande, sono per eccellenza gli appuntamenti/riti del Carnevale di Venezia che è tra i più eleganti e ra!inati al mondo. Sono però le feste private, ambientate in location dal valore artistico unico, a rappresentare l’apice della mondanità. Eventi nascosti dalla folla di calli e canali e talmente riservati che ai partecipanti, in alcuni casi, è addirittura vietato utilizzare apparecchi fotografici o cellulari. Gli ospiti sono avvolti da sontuose atmosfere fuori dal tempo dove cocktail di benvenuto e cene gourmet sono il piacevole coté di feste dove ci si lascia andare tra musica dal vivo, dj set molto cool e anche pièce teatrali. Dietro alle meravigliose maschere che popolano i saloni af-frescati si nascondono, spesso, i volti più famosi. L’evento più atteso è sicuramente Il Ballo del Doge, creato dalla stilista e imprenditrice Antonia Sautter, quest’anno alla 24ma edizione. Come anticipa il titolo “Venezia è… so Splendid, so Magic, so Glam, so You!”, il party vuole essere un indiscusso tributo alla città regina del Carnevale, so-spesa tra il fascino dell’arte, il glamour della moda e la grandeur del cinema. Partecipare all’evento, fissato per il 25 Febbraio nella magica cornice di Palazzo Pisani Moretta, può costare fino a 2.500 euro. Le sale rinascimentali del maestoso Palazzo Ca’ Vendramin Calergi, proprio dove Wagner compose il “Parsifal”, ospitano La Galleria delle Meraviglie, cena-spettacolo in programma tutte le sere dal 18 al 28 Febbraio. Le atmosfere seducenti sono invece il leitmotiv del Gran Ballo di Casanova, il 25 nel nobile Palazzo Ca’ Zen.Non mancano altri stilosissimi appuntamenti, dal Ballo Tiepolo e Gran Ballo Mascheranda (rispettivamente il 23 e il 26 a Palazzo Pisani Moretta) a Minuetto (il 25 nella cornice dell’Hotel Danieli), per citarne alcuni. Al ricco programma serale si a!iancano eventi pomeridiani altrettanto coinvolgenti, dedicati a chi desidera avvicinarsi ai passi base di minuetti, contraddanze e valzer sotto la guida di esperti maestri di ballo: tra questi, “Cioccolata danzante a Venezia” (il 21 e il 24 nell’Hotel Splendid Venice) e “Cotillon a Palazzo” (19, 22 e 25 nell’Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal).Dress code obbligatorio per tutti gli eventi è il costume d’epoca. gli Atelier veneziani, quali Nicolao o Tiepolo, permettono di preno-tare online un abito, fissare la data della prova costume e o!rono un veloce servizio sartoriale per modifiche in loco. The best-known events/rituals of the Carnival of Venice, itself one of the most sophisticated festivals in the world, are the emotive Flight of the Angel in Saint Mark’s Square and the parades on the water from Punta della Dogana crossing the entire Grand Canal.Nonetheless, it is the private parties, set in unique locations of great artistic value, that represent the pinnacle of worldliness. Hidden from the crowds amassed along the narrow streets and canals, these events are so exclusive that, in some cases, attendees are even forbidden to use cameras or mobile phones. Guests are envel-oped in the timeless lavish atmosphere where welcome cocktails and gourmet dinners are the pleasant accessories to the parties in which one may lose themselves amongst live music, funky DJ sets and even theatrical performances. The marvellous masks that pop-ulate the frescoed salons often hide the most famous of faces.The most anticipated event is undoubtedly Il Ballo del Doge (The Doge’s Ball), created by designer and entrepreneur Antonia Sautter, in its 24th edition this year. As is anticipated by its title, “Venice is... so Splendid, so Magic, so Glam, so You!”, the party is intended to be a tribute to the city that is the undisputed Queen of Carnival, suspended between the charm of art, the glamour of fashion and the grandeur of cinema. Scheduled for 25 February in the magical setting of Palazzo Pisani Moretta, attending the event can cost up to 2,500 euro. The renaissance rooms of the majestic Palazzo Ca’ Ven-dramin Calergi, precisely where Wagner composed his “Parsifal”, the Galleria delle Meraviglie is scheduled to host a dinner theatre every evening from 18 to 28 February. The seductive atmosphere is the leitmotif of the Gran Ballo di Casanova, a masquerade ball held in noble Palazzo Ca’ Zen on 25 February. Other glamorous events are not lacking, from the Ballo Tiepolo and Gran Ballo Mascheran-da masquerade ball (23 and 26 respectively at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta) to the dinner and dancing of the Minuetto (25 February at Hotel Danieli), to name just a few. The rich evening programme is flanked by equally engaging afternoon events, dedicated to those wanting to discover the basic steps of the minuets, country dance and waltz under the guidance of experienced dance instructors. Among these events are the “Cioccolata danzante a Venezia” (21 and 24 in Hotel Splendid Venice) and “Cotillion a Palazzo” (19, 22 and 25 at Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal). Period costume is the mandatory dress code for all events. Venetian artisans, such as Nicolao and Tiepolo, permit online reservations for costumes and booking fitting appointments, plus o!er a fast on site tailoring service for any modifications. The rental cost varies in accordance with the sophistication and quality of the vintage garments. One may explore the unique couture outfits, manufactured and decorated entirely by hand with rich trimmings, Swarovski stones, and precious fabrics and ribbons. Accessories are always considered as being separate.
