Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis

Background:

RWL Water designed, manufactured, delivered and commissioned a complete brackish water reverse osmosis system with a capacity of 50 m3/hour of produced water. The pre-assembled, skid-mounted system was supplied “ready to use” to enable fast and simple on-site installation and commissioning. The unit is supplied with a central control system for easy operation. The system is designed to be expanded to 100 m3/hour. Quality Parameters: Conductivity < 20 Micro Siemens/cmChlorides (CI) < 10 mg/l

Solution:

Access to potable drinking water with low salinity is essential to the beverage industry worldwide. It is also an ongoing concern within the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, Carlsberg, the fifth largest brewery group in the world, selected RWL Water to install brackish water reverse osmosis units for the removal of residual salts, organics and bacteria from tap water.

• Pre-filtration: multimedia filters with automatic back wash remove large particles• Active carbon filters with automatic backwash for removal of residual oxidants and organics• Chemical dosing: anti-scalant prevents scale build-up on the membranes• Five micron cartridge filtration: removes residual solids, colloids, and organic material• Reverse osmosis desalination: high-rejection brackish water reverse osmosis membranes remove dissolved materials from the feed water • Bacterial filtration of 0.45 microns• Cleaning In Place (CIP) system• HMI control system
