-Using informal language is regarded as cool and the norm for most hip-

hop fanatics

-They understand that to keep with the audiences needs they need to keep

up with their language form that relationship; for example if they used

old English in a hip hop magazine it wouldn't be right but using to much

slang just makes the magazine look like a joke so they thrive to find the

mix.

MODE OF ADDRESS

Informal language such as;

“Smoke sumthin”

“Got Sirius”

“Repeat champ”

“The realist”

“Will shoot yo ass”

STYLE

-XXL features a lot of iconography which relates to the genre and the

scenes that surround hip hop for example low baggy pants tank tops lots of

jewellery and expensive clothing and also big dubbed up cars.

-The images involved are quiet simplistic and on occasion can be placed

in different scenarios for example lil Wayne's picture is based on stage

these live action shots are not a usual convention of hip hop magazines.

- The magazines fonts vary from artist to artist but the most commonly

used font type is sans serif whether there's is a varied texture depends on

the articles involved.

- White and black colours featured most often to create that almost good

and bad side to the genre.

Fonts could relate to the mood of

the article

Finger could relate to where

he thinks he’s going in the

world “up”.

Facial expression not the

usual snarl of a hip hop

magazine.
