    APPLICAtION PrOCess

    1. Application: Please send the signed enrolment orm on page 22to your PLI representative with the enrolment ee and, i applicable,the courier ee. The enrolment ee is CAD110. Students over 18must sign to say that they have read and agree with these terms andconditions. The parents o students under 18 must read and signon their behal. Your privacy is important to us. Please note that bysubmitting your personal data to us, you are accepting the termsdescribed in our privacy policy, which can be ound at:www.pli.ca. Please note that additional Terms and Conditions

    apply to our Live Online courses and these can be ound at www.kaplaninternational.com/liveonline

    2. Payn dadlin: All course costs must be paid in ull no laterthan 30 days beore the course starts. I a booking is made less than30 days beore the course starts, the ees are immediately payable.I payment in ull has not been received, you will not be allowed tostart your course.

    3. via inoaion: It is the responsibility o the student to arrangeall applicable travel permits or visas and to have a valid passport.We will provide you with a letter o acceptance to assist you withyour visa application.

    4. Coi : I you enrol more than 30 days beore the coursestart date, documentation will be sent by normal postal service,unless you request and pay or the courier service. A courier serviceis available or CAD75 or bookings made less than 30 days inadvance. In Canada, you will be charged or a courier service i youare a minor, as the school will be required to courier Custodianshipdocuments to you.

    5. mdical Inanc: Medical insurance is compulsory at all PLIschools or the duration o your stay regardless o your courselength. PLI oers a Medical Insurance plan that we advise youto take. Details o what this covers are available rom your PLIrepresentative. I you are not taking our insurance, you are requiredto show proo o alternative medical insurance at the school whenyou arrive. You will not be allowed to commence a course until youhave obtained satisactory medical insurance.

    6. Halh dclaaion: Students must report on their application anymental or physical illness, allergy, disability or condition that mayinterere with their ability to successully complete their program,that may impact the health and well-being o any other student orsta member, that may require monitoring, treatment or emergencyintervention o any kind during the students anticipated periodo enrolment, or that may require special accommodations. PLIreserves the right to reject an applicant or terminate a studentsenrolment in the program i the students continued participationrepresents a risk to their health and saety or to the health andsaety o other students or sta, or i, notwithstanding reasonable

    accommodations, in the opinion o PLI, the students physicalor mental condition makes the student unable or unlikely tosuccessully complete their program.

    7. tiion : Tuition ees include lessons, orientation meeting,use o computer room and internet, placement and progress testingand a PLI certifcate on completion o the course. PLI reserves theright to withhold the granting o a certifcate attained by a student istudent ees remain outstanding.

    8. Addiional ic: Any additional services (transers, travel,laundry, telephone costs, excursions, medical costs, special diet,exam ees, change o accommodation and enrolment amendments)are not included in any ees unless specifcally stated on a validinvoice.

    9. twin accoodaion: At PLIs discretion, students may berequired to book single room accommodation instead o twin room.

    10. und 18 ya old: PLI delivers adult courses. Thereore,students aged 16 and 17 are advised that they will be attending

    classes with students aged 18 and over. Under 18 year olds may berequired to pay a guardian ee, live in PLI-approved accommodation,book PLIs airport transer service and purchase PLI medicalinsurance. All students under 18 must provide a signed MinorAuthorizationorm Health Declarationand excursionwaiver orm

    2. Aial and dpa: All accommodation is booked rom theSaturday or Sunday beore the course start date until the Saturdaymorning ater the course end date, unless otherwise advised. Apartial week may be counted as 1 weeks accommodation. Studentsarriving between 22:30 - 6:00 may be asked to book alternativeaccommodation in a hotel on their frst night due to late/early arrivalat accommodation.

    3. La aial, ak and anc: I you begin your enrolmentlate or are absent during your course, no reund will be made orthe time missed. Periods o absence cannot be made up with aree extension o the course. Vacation dates are pre-built into theAcademic Year and Academic Semester program and studentscannot make changes to these dates. Breaks taken at other timeswill be marked as periods o absence. For other courses, granting

    o any session breaks ater the course has started will be at thediscretion o individual schools and may incur a change ee or bemarked as a period o absence.

    4. mal and cla id: No reunds or substitutions willbe made or meals or classes missed due to exams, excursions,internships, frst day orientation or other obligations that all outsidethe normal schedule.

    5. Plic holiday: Classes are normally not held and most schoolacilities are closed on public holidays. All published course startdates all on a Monday. I the Monday is a public holiday, the startdate will all on a Tuesday. Compensation will not be made orclasses not oered on public holidays.

    6. Chan : A minimum o 4 weeks notice is required or anychange. I you request a change o school location, course dates,accommodation, or program type ater your course has started,you will be charged a change ee o CAD100 which is payable atthe time the request is made. Academic Year or Semester studentscannot transer to a dierent PLI school during term time. I changing

    to a program where ees are lower, the dierence in ees will not bereunded. I changing to a more expensive program, the dierencein ees will be charged. All changes require approval o the ProgramDirector. You will not be charged a change ee i you extend yourcourse, but late homestay extensions may require a re-placementee o CAD100. Any change o tuition resulting in a reduction inlessons will be treated as a termination and rebooking, and willthus be subject to the standard terms & conditions governingterminations (see Termination Policy.)

    7. Daion o lon: All English classes at PLI are 45 minutesin duration unless otherwise stated. Courses run rom Mondayto Friday and lessons are scheduled both in the morning and theaternoon with dierent shits at various times o year. PLI does notguarantee classes or class schedules, as they are subject to studentlevel and availability.

    8. siion policy: I, ater the placement test taken on arrivalat the school, a student is ound to be at a level which is notappropriate or their booked course, the school reserves the rightto place the student in an appropriate level class, which may have

    ewer lessons and a dierent curriculum. Students who do not havethe ability to ollow any course on oer may be required to terminatetheir studies with PLI. We also reserve the right to cancel courses atshort notice due to insufcient demand.

    9. Poa chan: PLI has the right to change course startdates, course curriculum and programs at any time due to errors,omissions and circumstances beyond our control. However, in caseswhere the course is rescheduled prior to the start o the frst courseand the new date is unacceptable to the student, all ees will bereunded.

    10. Pic: PLI has the right to change prices due to tax increases,governmental actions or other events beyond our control. Prices arevalid or courses starting in 2011.

    11. book and lanin aial: All learning materials will bemade available to students during their course. A materials ee ischarged to cover the cost o these items. Some specialized coursesmay require the purchase o books.

    12. ridnial hoin dpoi: A reundable housing deposito up to CAD600 may be charged on arrival to students takingresidential accommodation in Canada. The deposit is returnedunless there is damage, loss or extra cleaning to be paid or on thestudentsdeparture

    is directly or indirectly liable to pay PLI in order to undertake thecourse, may be expelled or suspended. No reund will be given andthe immigration authorities will be inormed.

    14. Liailiy: The liability o PLI, its group companies, their directors,ofcers, employees, afliates, agents and partners with respect tolosses arising rom negligence (except where such liability cannotbe excluded as a matter o law), breach o contract or otherwise willbe limited in all circumstances to the ull amount paid to PLI or therelevant PLI group company by the relevant student or the particularprogramme. Such companies and persons will in no circumstanceshave any liability or indirect or consequential losses or damages.

    15. Foc aj: PLI is not liable in cases where PLI is unableto ulfll any services to which it is contractually bound because

    o fre, natural disaster, act o government, ailure o suppliers orsubcontractors, labour disputes or other reasons which are beyondPLIs control.

    reFuND POLICYReunds will be made via the PLI representative to whom the eeswere originally paid, or to the students bank account in the samecountry in which the ees were originally paid. All reunds will bemade within 45 days o written notifcation. In the event o a studentcancelling or terminating a course, a ull reund o all unusedees will be made less all non-reundable service charges (eg.airport transer, courier ees, enrolment ees, medical insurance,accommodation placement ee, administrative ee) and a CAD100change ee. In the event o PLI cancelling or terminating a course, aull reund o all unused ees will be made.

    CANCeLLAtION/POstPONemeNt POLICYCancellation reers to the period up to the start date o the frstcourse you are attending. In cases where cancellations are madein writing 7 days or more beore the arrival date listed on thebooking confrmation orm, or on written notifcation o a visa

    rejection and receipt o relevant supporting documentation, 100%o the tuition and accommodation ees will be reunded, but in allcases, the courier ee, accommodation placement ee (i utilised),enrolment ee, medical insurance, and any other service charges arenon-reundable. For cancellations and postponements made lessthan 7 days beore the frst course start date including no shows,tuition and accommodation ees will be reunded less one weeksaccommodation ee and a tuition ee o CAD200. In all cases, thecourier ee, enrolment ee, accommodation placement ee, medicalinsurance, and any other service charges are non-reundable.

    termINAtION POLICYTermination means stopping or leaving all or part o the courseor courses booked, including extensions, once the frst coursehas started. When determining the number o weeks completed,a partial week will be counted as a whole week, provided thestudent was present at least one day during the scheduled week.Used weeks o discounted tuition and accommodation packageswill be charged at the ull brochure weekly rate when any reundis calculated. In all cases additional service charges (e.g. airporttransers, courier ees, enrolment ees, medical insurance,accommodation placement ee, administrative ee etc.) are non-reundable and written notifcation o termination must be givenalong with 4 weeks notice to the school Principal or Director.A reund will be made or the unused tuition ee less notice periodand the applicable change ee. Students who terminate theirprogram may not be eligible to receive a PLI certifcate.

    tiion: In cases where a course is terminated, any tuition reundsare paid within 30 days o a written request. Reunds are calculatedas ollows:- ater up to 10% o the program has been completed: 50% reund o

    unused tuition ees- ater 11 29% o the program has been completed: 30% reund o

    unused tuition ees- ater 30% or more o the program has completed: 0% reund o

    unused tuition ees

    Accoodaion: Students must give 4 weeks notice (or 8 weeksnotice or discounted accommodation packages) in writing to theSchool Director/Principal. A reund will be made o 100% o theunused accommodation ee less notice period and the applicablechange ee.
