Abraham-Louis Perrelet and his grand-son Louis-Frédéric left their

mark on watchmaking with their respective inventions : the automatic

winding movement and the split-seconds chronograph. Today, the

Perrelet Brand carries on this unique expertise and places the move-

Worthy heir of an invention that today resonates in every automatic

watch, it’s from this legitimate heritage that Perrelet derives its dy-

namism and creativity. The Brand proposes timepieces steeped in

modernity, originality and exclusivity.

All Perrelet creations are, without exception, fi tted with automatic

movements. Thanks to its “manufacture” competency, the company

is able to meet and exceed the expectations of the most sophisticated

connoisseurs.

The “Double Rotor” is the real incarnation of the singularity that

characterizes Perrelet. With its unique conception and Perrelet patent,

the Double Rotor is the Brand’s icon. The complexity of its mechanism

makes it possible to observe and visualize the automatic winding

function on the dial. The synchronization of the two rotors, lower

and upper, provides the opportunity to observe the perfect function

of the movement and gives it a more effi cient winding facility than

that of classic models.

In 2012, the Brand unveiled the Alternance 10 (A 10) caliber, entirely

produced in-house, a decisive step on the path toward autonomy.

A large portion of Perrelet timepieces, including this year’s new re-

leases, are affected by this change. In due course, it will replace all

the base calibers currently used by the company. With Alternance

10, Perrelet adds to its prestige the testimony of movements made

entirely in-house.

Perrelet, a veritable force in the fi eld of luxury watchmaking, enriches

this universe with elegance and refi nement. The art of harnessing its

watchmaking expertise, emanating from a long tradition and state of

the art production, enables Perrelet to offer reliable timekeepers with

ing skills, he devotes him-

self from his adolescence

onward to building a cer-

tain number of precision

instruments. His impressive

mastery of his art, his ac-

knowledged competence

and his creative genius are

to make him one of the

greatest ever exponents of

the art of horology.

From the 1770s onwards,

he begins trying to develop

a system that can pick up

an initial impulse and keep

it running indefi nitely. In

1777 he gives concrete

shape to a totally revolu-

tionary invention: the auto-

matic movement. To date,

no better way has ever

been found of giving life

to mechanical calibers and

his invention is still making

its mark on watchmaking

history.

Abraham-Louis Perrelet

develops the fi rst pedom-

eter and also becomes

the fi rst to make with es-

capements and of the du-

plex, date and equation

of time type. He further

improves the going train

and improves the pinions,

wheels, the escapement

and his unique winding

mechanism.

Birth of Louis-Frédéric

Perrelet who has inher-

ited his grandfather’s hor-

ological genius. Displaying

a clear-cut predisposition

for mechanics and mathe-

matics, he is trained by his

grandfather before settling

in Paris and studying in the

Breguet workshops. His

talents enable him to rap-

idly distinguish himself as

an independent horologist.

His growing interest in

the fi elds of astronomy,

physics and science lead

Louis-Frédéric Perrelet to

design so-called “schol-

arly” clocks. An astro-

nomical clock developed in

1815 and presented at the

World’s Fair in Paris in 1823

sets the seal on his status

as watchmaker-engineer to

three kings of France.

On the occasion of

the French Industrial

Exposition, he presented

an exceptional split-sec-

ond physics and astron-

omy counter. This model,

for which he was granted

an offi cial patent in March

1828, earned him a medal

from the French Academy

of Science in 1830.

Representing notable

proof of his European-wide

reputation, his talent and

his perseverance, and in

addition to his many gold

medals, Louis-Frédéric was

awarded the French title

of Chevalier de la Légion

d’Honneur.

The House of Perrelet de-

velops, fi ne-tunes and pro-

duces the fi rst so-called

“Double Rotor” automatic

caliber – a unique system

that connects the oscillat-

ing weight of the auto-

matic winding system with

a rotor on the dial side. The

Dipteros model thus rep-

resents an important step

towards the Brand’s fu-

ture and heralds a num-

ber of original and exclu-

sive developments.

Perrelet is acquired by

Miguel Rodriguez, owner

and sole shareholder,

marking the start of the

brand’s renewal. The

brand-new collection, re-

vamped and reoriented

under the aegis of Miguel

Rodriguez, is presented at

Baselworld 2005.Perrelet presents a model

that is soon to become a

truly iconic timepiece: the

Turbine. Once again based

on the so-called “Double

Rotor” movement, the os-

cillating weight on the dial

side takes the shape of a

propeller rotating at ex-

tremely high speed. The

Turbine thus paves the way

for a range of unique and

authentic artistic and horo-

logical creations.

The Brand continues in-

novating and inventing by

presenting the Peripheral

Double Rotor that em-

bodies the evolution of

the double rotor concept

that shifts from the center

to the periphery. Above

all, this model is the fi rst

equipped with the entirely

in-house manufactured

Caliber A10.

Perrelet presents the

Turbine Chrono, once

again demonstrating its

creativity by proving ca-

pable of combining the

Turbine effect with a hor-

ological complication.

Hot on its heels, Perrelet

also launches its Turbillon

model representing a

clever association of the

Turbine with a Tourbillon

caliber produced in its own

workshops. Through these

two major new releases,

Perrelet demonstrates

its horological expertise

and its ability to continu-

ally reinvent his “Turbine”

concept.

DOUBLE ROTOR

Embodying the singular nature of Perrelet, in-ventor of the automatic movement, the pat-ented Double Rotor gives a starring role to the ingenious winding system. The traditional rotor is complemented by another rotor that is permanently visible, either in the center or around the periphery of the dial, depending on the model. This perfectly synchronized pair en-sures enhanced performance and enables the wearer to admire or keep track of the steady to-and-fro oscillations.

LUGS

These elements serving to attach the strap or bracelet make a major contribution to the Perrelet style. They are generously sized and stand out from the case so as to accentuate their presence, while their sharp-angled de-sign asserts their contemporary nature and their broad curves ensure optimal comfort on the wrist.

TURBINE

Since 2009, the Perrelet Double Rotor has been interpreted in a new way with the upper rotor replaced by a large 12-blade wheel that turns freely over the entire dial surface, in step with wrist movements. The Turbine collection plays with a wide range of colors and motifs appear-ing as a backdrop and creating fascinating opti-cal effects. Visual pleasure is the chief priority. Over the years, the Turbine has become an au-thentic brand icon and has evolved consider-ably. In 2013, horological complications such as the chronograph and the tourbillon have been added. An important step has thus been taken, paving the way for promising further developments.

FLUTED PATTERN

Fluting is a traditional watchmaking pattern that has been given a contemporary twist. The square-section hollows form cleanly structured pilasters on the case middles. While generally fairly closely spaced on classic watches, they are broadened and even raised on the daring Turbine models. This pattern is picked up on certain crowns to ensure an enhanced grip.

TRANSPARENT ROTOR

As the fundamental element of the automatic movement, the lower rotor of the more classic Perrelet calibers exercises its winding function in an entirely transparent way. It is openworked in the center to frame a sapphire crystal and offer a broader view.

A fascinating evolution of the Double Rotor, the Turbine has rapidly become the iconic Perrelet collection.

“Turbine” watches offer their fortunate users a range of optical and visual effects that are unique in the watch-

making world, thanks to the ingenious combination of a propeller-shaped upper rotor whirling at top speed with

a dial surface on which designers can give free rein to their boundless imaginative powers.

From diamond rays to the most sophisticated designs and all manner of geometrical variations, the Turbine collec-

tion lends itself to an astonishing number of aesthetically pleasing and playful games, without ever denying the

Brand’s horological authenticity, or its fabulous historical past. The system developed by Abraham Louis Perrelet

in 1777, ensuring automatic winding via an oscillating weight, remains as effi cient as ever.

Building on a unique, iconic and instantly recognizable design, the Turbine collection appears in countless guises

designed for both men and women. Initially introduced in a 44mm case, it has been enriched over the years

with versions including the 50mm XL, 41mm XS and 38mm XXS models, as well as the 47.5 mm Diver variation

specifi cally intended for the underwater world and powered by a dedicated turbine.

Loyal to its pioneering spirit and keen to express its watchmaking expertise more forcefully than ever, Perrelet

launched the Turbine collection in 2013 by introducing the fi rst-ever associations between horological compli-

cations and the inherent playful creativity of this line. This approach has given rise to the Turbine Chrono and

Turbillon models. By incorporating the Chronograph and Tourbillon within the Turbine model, the Brand is paving

the way for promising future developments.

Building on its undeniable fascination, the Turbine line goes wild and pulls out all the stops to offer an escapist

vision. The Special Editions in the range stem from diverse sources of inspiration: they enable Perrelet to highlight

its mastery and creativity in various ways by giving life to watches with a decidedly playful spirit. The latter is

essentially embodied in the upper rotor, the 12-blade wheel, which spins around the dial to create a perpetually

different optical effect. The Turbine at once conceals and unveils the fanciful imaginative powers of Perrelet,

which dares to express its expertise by offering an eclectic range of decors.

The chic and elegant world of casinos is epitomized in the Turbine and Turbine XL Poker models, on which playing

cards form the backdrop for the under-dial, as well as in the Turbine XL Roulette on which the famous red and

black stripes of the famous “wheel of fortune” harmoniously team up with the Turbine to reveal the winning

numbers. Also available in an original XL version with a 50mm case, the Turbine Playing with Fire watch features

the precious simplicity of an all-black model lit up by golden fl ashes of light.

Perrelet’s creative inspiration has also given rise to the Turbine Toxic model, available in men’s and ladies’ versions.

Beneath the dial of this model that is every bit as seductive as a jewelry creation, a stunning diamond-set skull

appears when the Turbine is spinning at full speed. With the Turbine Snake model, Perrelet celebrates the Chinese

year of the snake. Its mother-of-pearl dial is adorned with a depiction of the reptile, itself made of Polynesian

mother-of-pearl and enhanced with a sparkling ruby eye.

The Turbine Special Editions by Perrelet are full of surprises, whether through the luminous colors of the Turbine

and Turbine XL Racing collections, or by the wildly creative decor of the Turbine Paranoïa. On the latter model, the

The noble watchmaking tradition cultivated by Perrelet is expressed through collections featuring pure lines,

The expertise and ingenuity inherited from the brand founder, Abraham-Louis Perrelet, have led in modern times

to the patented invention of the automatic double-rotor. Ever since its introduction, the concept has been applied

in various ways to Perrelet creations. The most recent expression of this innovation is the Peripheral Double Rotor

collection, comprising elegant and masculine timepieces with a subtle retro look and featuring all the Brand’s

unmistakable design codes. The upper rotor becomes peripheral in the form of a ring working together with the

lower rotor to provide complementary movement winding.

With its Tourbillon Black & Gold model, a 20-piece limited edition, Perrelet provides further proof of its technical

mastery and of its good taste by creating an elegant tailor-made exterior for the most fascinating of horological

complications. The intense black of the DLC-coated steel and the delicate pink glow of the gold combine to give

life to a subtle play on colors creating an intense contrast.

The timepieces of the First Class collection are classic, pure models imbued with timeless elegance. This collec-

tion with its round case comes in masculine and feminine versions, the latter being offered in a choice of simple

and precious materials such as mother-of-pearl for the dials and diamonds for the bezels, thus endowing them
