He is the youngest of five children. Andy has been acve in the St Bede Youth Group for the last three years graduated from high school this past May. He has been a parishioner of St Bede since 2010. When he was younger he was an altar server. As Andy has drawn nearer to the Lord through his acve role in youth ministry and the parish, he discerned God calling him to enter seminary formaon and he said, yes. Andy has been accepted by Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi as seminarian for the Archdiocese of Mobile. He will begin seminary formaon this week at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana. 1. Parents must be married in the Catholic Church. 2. If a couple is civilly married or unmarried, they must
make an appointment to meet with the Pastor before they can have their children baptized.
3. Children age 6 and under will receive the sacrament of Baptism. From 7 and above, they will receive all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation).
4. Parents must bring a copy of their marriage certificate from the Church where they were married.
5. Godparents must be practicing Catholics. You may have a proxy for a godparent/s who may be unable to come.
6. To have your child baptized, contact Andrea at 272-3463 to schedule a Baptism Preparation Class.
7. Baptism in English is every 3rd Sunday of each month after the 10am Mass.

Registration for Religious Education classes will be from July 31-August 18. Please submit your completed form with payment to the Parish office during office hours. Sunday registration in the Parish Hall will be on on August 13 after the 10am Mass only. This is for children entering Grades 1 thru 6.
Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 11:15am - 12:20pm in the school.
Children must be registered before attending the first class on August 27.

SECOND COLLECTION. St. Bede will take a 2nd collection next weekend, August 19 & 20,
for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This appeal supports home mission dioceses in the
United States for seminarian formation in poor dioceses. Please strengthen the Church at home by
making a generous gift to next week’s appeal.

The ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY has produced a series of 30-minute TV programs for EWTN TV that will air this upcoming TV season. These programs show the many different activities that Vincentians do to serve those in need around the country. The first episode aired on Wed. July 26, Thur. July 27, and Fri. July 28. All air times are at 5:30 PM CDT.

Father Nicholas will be leading a group from St. Bede to the One Faith, One Family Conference on August 19th at the Daphne Civic Center. You can find more information about this exciting conference offered by the Archdiocese of Mobile by visiting mobarchconferences.org or speaking with Father Nicholas. The conference is August 18-19 at the Daphne Civic Center and tickets are only $75 for a family or $45 for individual tickets which includes supper on Friday. Registration forms are in the church vestibule. Please complete two forms -submit one form to the Parish Office no later than Wednesday, August 16, and mail the other form with your payment to the address on the form.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL @ ST. BEDE EXTENDED HELP TO THE NEEDY THROUGH YOUR GENEROSITY! Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Green would like to thank the St. Vincent de Paul Society and St. Bede Parish for their generosity in helping them at a time when they went homeless back in April 2017. Through SVDP, they were assisted in finding a place to live, given furniture and are now back on their feet. God works through the generosity of all those who support SVDP and the parish. The Green's are not affiliated with any faith. This calls to mind Jesus' words in the Gospel, "I was hungry and you gave me food, naked and clothed me, in need and you visited me. . ." (Matt 25:35-36) Fr. Alex
C . A . P. P. R ETR A I N I NG. It is time once again for all religious,
employees and those volunteers who have substantial contact with children to complete their Children and Adolescents
Protection Program (C.A.P.P.) retraining. This retraining is required of all personnel who have already
completed their initial C.A.P.P. training and who continue to be active in the ministries of the Archdiocese
of Mobile. Retraining can be completed online. Log on to www.mobilearchdiocese.org.
The retraining articles will be found on the Office of Child Protection page. After reading the
articles, take the quiz. You will receive immediate feedback as to whether or not you pass the quiz.
The online database will be automatically updated with the new retraining expiration date.
U p d a t e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e. If you are new to the parish and would like to volunteer either at the parish or the school, you will need to take the initial training. It is offered the fourth Wednesday of the month which will be August 23, at the MCPS High School campus at 7pm.
