Development Objectives

• Adaptively develop the site as world class lodge and conference center with restaurant, meeting space, and spa/Healing Arts Center. Minimize room count (as well as traffic and other site impacts) to greatest extent possible.

• Develop existing buildings (on National Register of Historic Landmarks) in accordance with Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Historic Rehabilitation.

• Demolish and replace non-historic Capeharts with contemporary, yet compatible, sustainably designed buildings.

• Achieve LEED Silver or Gold Certification for entire project.

• Create a center for ongoing learning (lectures, workshops, conferences, classes). Incorporate and collaborate with the NPS’ Institute at the Golden Gate, as well as other partners, to bring the brightest minds and ideas to Cavallo Point.
