Hie Worship the Meyor (Alderman Harold T. Morgen) submitted a Report of a meeting
of the Works Committee held Monday the 13th inet., containing recommendations 1-12 in-
elusive. Alderman Pritchard moved that the Works Committee's Report be received and
adopted, and its recommend.ati one carried into effeot. Seconded by Aldermen Keats am
carried.
The Overseer of Works submitted his Report of works completed or 1n progress during
the past fortnight which was received.
The Assistant Sanitary Inspector subnitted his Report as contained on folio 6 of
the Seni tazy Inspector •a Report Book. Alderman Smith moved that the Report be
received, and the applications mentioned in paragraph 2 granted.

Letter from the Under Secretary , Chief Secretary ' s uffice , asking for an expression
of opinion as to the removal of the restrictions re holding public meet ings on the Newtovm
Bridge in connection with the approaching elections.
Alderman Dibble moved that the letter be received and the writer infor med that
this Council will offer no objection to the removal of the restri ctions for a period of one
month prior to the date of the Federal Election, subject to the Police supervising all open
air pub lic meet inge, ~d allot ing stands on the Bridge, so that no one pa rty will effect a
mono poly or any pr eference to the best stands on the Bridge .
