There will be a COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE on Saturday, April 20th. Here’s your chance to sell off all those things you come up with during Spring House Cleaning. Our Cedar Mill HOA Dues of $425 are due by May 1st, 2013. Remember that our new fiscal year now goes from May 1 st to April 30 th each year. Payment notices and slips will be forth-coming. If you have any questions at all, please drop an e-mail to [email protected]. Sentry Management has a website for electronically paying any payment to the HOA, as well as information that relates to the management of our community. The website is: www.sentrymgt.com. To make payments, you will need to know your 16-digit ‘Bill-Pay’ account number. This number is on any bill you may have received from Sentry Management. However, if you can’t find your last bill, or haven’t received one yet, you can e-mail Carole Hannah at [email protected], or her assistant, Ann Bonesteel at [email protected] and ask for that number. Be aware that Option #1 (credit card) has a hefty fee with it, as opposed to Option #2 (e-check) is free. Any questions about this process, or the website, please contact Ms. Hannah. We’re having a Party!!! On Saturday, March 16th, we’re going to have an INTERNATIONAL (St. Patrick’s) DAY COMMUNTITY PARTY. See Page 2 for more details. Their creative booth displays will again decorate the street with paintings, pottery, metalwork, folk art, glass, jewelry, yard art and much more! At Acworth Art Fest, a magical Kidz Zone will be filled with creative activities that are sure to make children smile. There will be food from Acworth’s own eateries. There has been an increase in vehicles parked on our streets, which is a Paulding County law, not a Cedar Mill neighborhood requirement. Vehicles habitually left in the streets overnight are subject to being ticketed by the Paulding County Sherriff’s department. If you do find you have to park on the street (though not overnight), park on the proper side of the street going with traffic, as close to the curb as possible and NOT on the top of a hill, which prevents you from seeing over the hill to go around the vehicle thereby taking a chance of being hit by on-coming traffic. If you park on one of our hills, turn your wheel so that if the vehicle was to go down the hill, the front tires would roll INTO the curb, not away from the curb. As always, please think of others in our neighborhood. Acworth Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the Spring 2013 Session of Preschool Sports Camp! It is a non-competitive program to help 3-4 year olds develop basic skills for sports programs in the future. This camp gives children a chance to explore a variety of different sports all in one program through 9 organized instructional sessions. Sessions are every Thursday morning from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. from April 18 through June 13. Held on the Horizon Field, Acworth Sports Complex, 4000 South Main St. A Parent/Guardian is required to attend all sessions for the entire program. Children are asked to wear proper workout attire. The registration fee for City residents is $50.00 and for non-City residents is $65.00.

The Board has appointed Carole Goldstein as the new Cedar Mill HOA Board Secretary replacing Julie Grayson.

The Board is going to iron out changes for the community. These are things like “The garage door cannot be le' open,” “No vegetable gardens

allowed,” and “No working on a car even inside your garage.” Any and all ideas are welcome and will be considered. Please send your thoughts,

Cedar Mill Neighborhood Watch Committee

Neighborhood Watch Commi4ee would like to welcome the new residents to our neighborhood! We all agree that we want a

SAFE Neighborhood! In order for this program to be a success, we need 100% par+cipa+on which means sending me your contact

informa+on. We need to be able to communicate with all residents in the neighborhood. Please e-mail me your contact

informa+on, so that I can add it to our contact list. This will enable the block captain to communicate with you should there be any

suspicious ac+vity in the neighborhood.

We are s+ll in need of block captains for the following streets: Cedar Mill Drive, Cedar Point, Longwood Crossing, Lakeside Terrace,

Ryan's Point and Zimmerwood Court.

Cedar Mill Pool Committee

If you haven’t no+ced, we’ve got a pool cover recently! This pool cover will save us hundreds of dollars during the off season due

to the lack of running the pumps. This was a much needed addi+on to our community.

Also, the pool is planned to be opened on May 18th this year, and closed on September 15th.

Pumpkin Pie ParfaitPumpkin Pie ParfaitPumpkin Pie ParfaitPumpkin Pie Parfait Prep Time: ≈ 2 hours Chill Time: ≈ 4 hours Servings: 8 Ingredients:

• ½ can chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds • ⅓ cup butter or margarine • ⅓ cup firmly packed light brown sugar • 1 baked pastry shell (9 inch), cooled • 2 envelopes DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping

Mix • 2 ¾ cups cold milk, divided • 1 teaspoon vanilla • 2 packages (4 serving size) Jello Vanilla flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling • 1 ⅓ cups (3 ½ ounces) Baker’s Angel Flake Coconut

Preparation: Heat pecans, butter and brown sugar in small saucepan until butter and sugar are melted and mixture comes to a boil. Boil exactly 30 secs. Spread on bottom of pastry shell. Let cool. Beat whipped topping mix, I cup of the milk and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer on high speed about 6 minutes or until topping thickens and forms peaks. Add remaining 1 ¾ milk and pudding mixes blend on low speed. Beat on high speed 2 minutes; scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in 1 cup of the coconut. Spoon into pastry shell. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or until set.
