Featured MusiciansOwen has always been a natural with rhythm, but it wasn't until he was given apair of drumsticks at age 12 did he realize the possibilities behind it. Beginningwith the drumset and the all too familiar command of 'make something up',Owen quickly progressed from drums to the world of percussion in highschool. His passion for percussion andmusic grew with tours of Austria andChina with his high school ensembles,as well as performances with theOttawa Regional Youth Choir, performing at Jazzfest, and othervenues. Pursuing a music degree at theUniversity of Western Ontario under thetutelage of Dr Jill Ball, Owen learnedmore about the world of percussion, taking part in various ensembles suchas the Wind Ensemble, SymphonicOrchestra, and various choirs bothUniversity-based and London-based, aswell as being featured soloist with theUWO Percussion Ensemble. Sincegraduating, Owen has received anEducation Degree from the University ofOttawa and has been carving out acareer in and around Ottawa with localorchestras, choirs, and bands as well asgiving lessons on various percussion instruments.
