Leader of the Trusteette Ministry and served in that position for over 25 years. Trusteette Turner was also a member of the former Willing Pulpiteers under the leadership of the late First Lady Elizabeth Steele (serving as the Acting Ministry Leader until the ministry was dissolved) and served as the Treasurer of the Open Door Club, where her late husband served as President. She is an active member of the Senior’s Ministry and has served as Ministry Leader and Vice Ministry Leader.
She has chaired and co-chaired many Women's Day Committees (activities, program, decoration/flowers, and refreshment), Women's Day Fashion Show, Mrs. Taylorsville Pageant, selected soloists and speakers for Women's Day, and worked with the Church Anniversary Banquet Committees. She was the Assistant Chairperson for the First Lady’s Day for the late First Lady Elizabeth Steele. During the Annual Minister Wives Banquet, Trusteette Turner assisted the former first ladies of New First Baptist, the late First Lady Steele and First Lady R. Brown, with the selling of tickets and highly recognized for the many tickets sold.
For many years, Trusteette Turner worked along with the Deaconess Ministry to select candidates to give the welcome on selected Sundays at the 7 AM Service. She has actively participated with Vacation Bible School for over 25 years where she previously served as Refreshment Chair, worked with the Wednesday feeding of the homeless, and a member of the First Pastoral Search Committee. She attends Prayer Service and Bible Study and served as Worship Leader when her assigned Ministry was in the spotlight.
Her favorite scripture is Psalm 46:1-11, “God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble a present help in our refuge . . .” and her favorite Christian song is, “Every Praise is to Our God”.
What she loves about New First Baptist — Trusteette Turner loves her church for their early morning worship service at 7 AM (formerly known as "Dewdrops from Heaven" by the late Rev. Dr. Steele). She loves working and being a part of the Senior’s Ministry were she has been able to work with some very special people that are still here, as well, those that have gone to be with the Lord. She loves working with the Trusteette Ministry and their sisters in Ministry, the Deaconess Ministry. She thoroughly enjoyed to the highest, her trip with her church to the Holy Land Experience in Florida.
Trusteette Turner’s years of service and commitment to this branch of Zion has truly showed her everlasting and steadfast love for the Lord and doing His will. We want to thank Trusteette Turner for her willingness to share her gifts of leadership, commitment, giving of herself, and her love and compassion for others with New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville).
