Vinayak Chaturthi was celebrated on 25th August in honour of the Lord of invocation Shri Ganesha to pray for his blessings so that every new action that started is fruitfully concluded without an obstacle.
The Puja was performed by Chairman, Vikash Group Sh. D.

Independence Day
I-Day 2017 was a great day and a proud moment for every Vikashite. School celebrated the 71st Independence Day on 15th Aug 2017 with nationalism and enthusiasm. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National flag by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Sh. Prasanna Acharya , MP, Rajya Sabha and followed by a fabulous display march past by the participants of all the four colorful houses along with little brigade from from the Primary Wing of the school.
Chief Guest Sh. Prasanna Acharya appreciated and congratulated the students for their participation in all the school activities; highlighted about the glorious moments of Freedom Movement and advocated students to contribute in Nation Building . Chairman Vikash Group, Honb’le D. Murali Krishna, highlighted the importance of I-Day and urged the students to become responsible citizens in making New India with the promise of a Clean India free from Poverty, Corruption, Terrorism, Communalism and Casteism. The whole conclave of Vikash vibrated with the patriotic fervor as the children exhibited live patriotic songs and spectacular dances to express the feeling of unity and secularism in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of integrity. The champion students of the Talent Search and the Best performer House in Song, Dance and Parade of the I-Day celebrations were felicitated by the d guests and dignitaries on the occasion.

of the Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand to
create a sports ambience and enthuse the young
talents to be a sports aspirants. On the

Gangadhar Meher, prominent Odia poet of 19th century also known as Swabhab Kavi, was a literary Midas, who changed every piece of word into wonderful work by alchemic touch of his genius. He was a born poet of delicate charm. School celebrated 155th Birth Anniversary of ‘Swabhaba Kabi’ on 9th Aug.
The legacy of Vikash is the outcome of the exemplary parenting of Late Sri Dasari Veerraju the adorable father of the Chairman Vikash Sri D. Murali Krishna and Director Administration Sri D. Nageshwar Rao; and Late Sri G. Ramachandra Rao lovable father of MD Vikash Sri G. Bhaskar Rao. Vikash commemorates the valued Parenting of the two great souls and on this day of 25th August, the pious anniversary of the Late Sri Dasari Veerraju, School observes ‘Vikash Day of Parenting’. School paid tributes and honored the duo. The management appealed the students to love and respect parents. In specific the Chairman Vikash urged the young mass, to transform themselves in a way that it would be a valued gift for the parents.

The student council forms an integral part of the school. There are
many reasons for a student council to exist:
•The council brings out the leadership qualities of the students.
•The students learn to accept responsibility.
•The students learn to delegate powers among themselves.
The House Installation Ceremony for the session 2017-18 was
conducted on 12th August where School entrusted responsibilities
to the student- the prospective leaders from the four vibrant houses
namely Ganga, Yamuna, Goudavari and Mahanadi. All the Office
Bearers were provided with the symbols of Leadership – Sash and
badge. They solemnly promised to realize their duties and
responsibilities. Honourable Sh.D. Murali Krishna, Chairman, VGI;
Sh. G.Bhaskar Rao, Managing Director,VGI; Sh. D. Nageswar Rao,
Director Administration, VGI and Dr.S.N. Panda, Director witnessed
the ceremony and emphasized the duty of a Leader and made the

The Special ‘Independence Day’-August Edition of the English and Hindi Literary Wall Magazines of CBSE Senior Secondary Science Wing ‘The Window’ and ‘Smruti’ were unveiled by Hon’ble Chairman of Vikash Group, Sj.D.Murali Krishna in the presence of Director Dr.S.N.Panda and all Principals and Coordinators on the occasion of 71st Independence Day Celebration on 15th August.
NUAKHAI HOLIDAYS The famous festival of Western Odisha ‘Nuakhai’ was on 26th August 2017 preceded by the celebration of Vinayak Chaturthi on 25th August. The Students of CBSE Senior Secondary were given Nuakhai Holidays from 24th August to 28th August to celebrate the festival of harvest with their family, relatives and friends.
QUARTERLY EXAMINATION (FOR-XI) AND HALF YEARLY EXAMINATION (FOR-XII) On the reopening of school after the Nuakhai Holidays, the regular academic programme is as it is on the track with seriousness of students again in studies. The Quarterly Examination (For Std-XII Science and Commerce) and Half Yearly Examinations (For Std-XII Science and Commerce) are scheduled from the 3rd week of September.
KVPY EXAMINATIONS (SA & SX)-2017 The Written Test of Kishore Vaigyanik Protshahan Yojna (KVPY) is on 29th October 2017. More than 150 students of both Std-XI and Std-XII have put in their Online Applications and have started their preparation for this examination this year.
