It is a great pleasure to share that January 2018 has
been an eventful month. Students continued the
habit of winning and brought many a laurels to the
school . School found a lot headlines in newspapers
for the activities organized.

HAPPY NEW YEAR GREETINGS 2018
The Institute had a Special Assembly on 11th January 2018
for the New Year Wishes. Hon'ble Members of the
management on the dais greeted the children and wished
all a very prosperous year 2018.
In his message Sh. D.Murali Krishna, Hon'ble Chairman,
Vikash Group urged the students on the importance of
integrity of character. During his discourse he cited the
epic conversation between the Hockey Legend Major
Dhyan Chand and Adolf Hitler at Berlin Olympics 1936
where the former denied Hitler’s offer of German Field
Marshal the most lucrative offer of that time- the finest
display of character that makes Dhyan Chand unique for
ahead of any adjectives as biggest or strongest..
SAHODAYA INTER-SCHOOL CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2017-18
Continuing the never losing spirit, to any teams of the 28 schools of CBSE Schools of Sahodaya School
Complex Western Odisha for the seventh time. School Team became the Champions in Sahodaya T20
Cricket Tournament 2017-18 beating Vikash-The Concept School, Sason, Sambalpur in the Final Match.
In the Finals Aryaman Mishra of class XI was the ‘Man of the Mathch’ and Md. Sahebaz Jamal of class
XII was adjudged as ‘Player of the Tournament’ .The tournament was organized by Vikash Residential
School, Bargarh and Vikash The Concept School, Sason at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bargarh and
Sambalpur respectively from 11th to 14th January 2018.

School observed Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai Jayanti on 23rd January 2018. At the
outset, the students and teachers gave floral tribute to the great sons of the soil garlanding their portraits.

NCC – A CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION
41 cadets of our school participated in the NCC A Certificate Examination on 21st January 2018 at George
High School, Bargarh.
VASANT PANCHAMI
School celebrated “Saraswati Puja” with all religious fervor on the auspicious occasion of Vasant
Panchami on 22nd January 2018. Baghdevi Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, Wisdom and Speech
was worshipped by the Students, Staff, and Management Members of Vikash to remove the ignorance and
enlighten the path of children with wisdom.
MEASLES -RUBELLA VACCINE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has initiated measles-rubella (MR) vaccination
campaign targeting the children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years in a phased manner across the
nation. Measles- Rubella Vaccine Awareness Campaigns for Students, Parents and Teachers were organised
in the school in the month time to time, by the Medical Officers of District Health and Medical Dept.
VISIT TO CHHATISGARH
Vice Principals, Teachers and Staff of the school visited different places of Chhatisgarh-
Tapkara, Kunkuri,Joshpur,Kansbel, Sitapur, Pathal Gaon,Tamnar and Raigarh;
Interacted with the valuable parents addressing the needs and aspirations of the
stakeholders.

69TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
One Nation, One Vision, One Identity with unity in a huge Diversity.
School celebrated the festival of 69th Republic Day with great pride and patriotism. Hon’ble Chief Guest
Sh. Debadatta Mishra, Advocate, Chairman of Odisha Bar Council hoisted the Tricolor and appreciated
Vikashites for their outstanding contribution in the field of education.
In his message, Sh. D. Murali Krishna, Hon’ble Chairman ,Vikash Group highlighted the significance of
our Constitution for all-round development of the nation. He also referred to the importance of small
things in life and appreciated students for their excellent performances and success in every field .
School echoed with the heart touching nationalistic fervor as the students displayed live patriotic songs,
dances and parade to depict a true picture of the life, customs, traditions and rich cultural heritage of the
nation.
STUDENTS FELICITATED AT DISTRICT REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
Students of our school felicitated on District Republic day at George High School Ground for their
achievements in different competitions.
Shraddha Mishra - 2nd prize in Rhyme , Astha Mahapatra - 1st prize in song,Dibyashree Bijayani Sahu -
2nd prize & Bansika Agrawal - 3rd prize in Debate , Navneet Biswal - 3rd prize & Nipuna Mahakur - 1st
prize in Drawing, Nikita Gangdev, Anshuman Dash and Ashutosh Priyadarshi - 2nd prize in Quiz
competition.
Tushar Sahu, Archita Mishra, Pujalin Naik, Divesh Nayak and Aakancha Gupta along with guide teacher
Mr.Achyutananda Mishra were felicitated by Dist Collector and Guests for their achievement in national
level NCSC 2017.
Martyrs’ Day
School observed Martyrs' Day on 30th January to salute the Martyrdom of the Father of Nation and
innumerable soldiers who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation. All the staff and students
of school observed a silent prayer for Two minutes at 11:00 am to pay homage to the Mahatma and all
the Martyrs .
SECOND PREBOARD EXAMINATIONS FOR CLASS XII
The Second Pre-board Examinations were scheduled from 13th January to 27th January 2018 and
completed successfully. The result is expected to be published in the Second Week of February 2018.
FIRST PREBOARD EXAMINATIONS FOR CLASS X
The First Pre-board Examinations of class-X is scheduled from 25h January to 2nd January 2018.
AISSCE XII BOARD PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS-2018
As per the directives of the CBSE, the AISSCE CLASS-XII practical Examinations are scheduled from
29th January to 10th February 2018.
ADMISSION TEST FOR CLASS-IX & XI NEW ADMISSONS
An admission test was conducted on 28th January 2018 (Sunday) to know the conceptual strength of the
students for offering new admissions in Class-IX & XI.
