The Vulnerability Assessment Framework is an inter-agency - inter-sectoral initiative to assess Syrian refugee vulnerability across the non-camp population. The VAF uses a dedicated questionnaire to collect case level data through home visits. The VAF modelling then uses econometric and sectoral algorithms/modeling to designate vulnerability. The VAF has to date conducted over 40,000 records - the data displayed above is a subset of these visits conducted since July 2014. The VAF modeling has been applied to a baseline survey for validations since the VAF home visit are anticipated to be a biased sample, with higher levels of vulnerability. 2. The VAF welfare scores for this region were collected through home visits concerning 12,437 cases. The absolute poverty rate ranking includes both the high and severe welfare scores, conform the 68 JOD/month Jordanian poverty line, which is considered the level beneath which the minimum requirements for survival (food and essential non-food items) cannot be met. This is not a random sample. The sub-districts of Al Areed, Theeban, Al Faisaleyah, Mahis Wa Al Fuhais, Mwaqqar, Rujm Al Shami, Al Azraq, Jrainah, Alan Wa Zay, Naur, Al Arda, Husban, Ira Wa Yarqa, Ash Shuna Al Janoubyah, Mleah, Um Al-Basatin, Ma'een, Beerain, Um Al-Rasas are not included because the sample size is too small. 3. The section on UNHCR registered Syrians is based on proGres data containing the population of UNHCR registered Syrians in Jordan as of March 2015, visualized on sub-district level. The % of refugees not reflected on this map due to levels of address detail collected is roughly 4% for Balqa, 5% for Amman, 3% for Madaba and 1% for Zarqa, The UNHCR-registered Syrian population distribution is subject to continuous changes as their movements are fluid. Notes:1. The VAF modeling has been applied to a baseline survey for validations since the VAF home visit are anticipated to be a biased sample, with higher levels of vulnerability.2. The VAF welfare scores for this region were collected through home visits concerning 8,606 cases. The absolute poverty rate ranking includes both the high as severe welfare scores, conform the 68 JOD/month Jordanian poverty line, which is considered the level beneath which the minimum requirements for survival (food and essential non-food items) cannot be met. This is not a random sample. The sub-districts of Aghwar Shamaliyah, Kufranjah, Borma, Mastabah, Orjan and Sakhrah are not included because the sample size is too small.3. The section on UNHCR registered Syrians by locality is based on proGres data containing the entire population of UNHCR- registered Syrians in Jordan as of March 2015, visualized on locality level. The % of refugees not reflected on this map is roughly 1 % for Ajloun, 3% for Irbid and 1% for Jarash. The UNHCR-registered Syrian population distribution is subject to continuous changes as their movements are fluid. Please refer to our portal for the most recent updates. The section on Host Community is based on DOS population projections for 2013.
