Interested in promoting your business but don’t have the time or venue? Maybe you would like to meet with members and prospective clients at a location outside of your business?

A Chamber After Hours event might be the solution you’re looking for! Chamber After Hours are available for all members. Similar to a Membership Mixer, the Chamber After Hours event will be a place for you to network and promote your business, except the Chamber will provide you the location. Refreshments are also included in the overall cost of the event. We take care of the details so you don’t have to!

As a sponsor of the event, there will be space available for you to place promotional items in the front of our office, and your staff can serve as greeters and hosts for the event in our office.

As the sponsor, you may also invite clients, colleagues and customers to the event. Just like a Membership Mixer, the sponsor will also receive recognition in the Chamber Connection, at our monthly Eye-Opener Breakfasts, on the Chamber website and in email blasts. We can schedule an after hours event any day of the week, after business hours.

For more information about the Chamber After Hours events, or to schedule one for your business, please contact Erinn Bell, Operations Manager at 717-637-6130 ext. 104 or [email protected].

Leadershipcontinued from front page

The sentiment holds true for Mindy Becker, Communications and Gift officer at The Brethren Home Foundation, 2015-16 leadership program participant.

“My favorite memories will be the time I’ve spent with my classmates in this program. We are all from different industries and organizations, and it’s great learning from each other and about our community together. Leadership Hanover has helped me understand some of the work that is done ‘behind the scenes’, and I have a greater appreciation for the groups and organizations who help make sure things run efficiently and effectively for the community,” said Becker.

Leadership Hanover qualifies for three Continuing Education Units through HACC- Gettysburg Campus. A CEU is 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible, capable direction and qualified instruction.

Tuition for the program is $1,200, and covers all training materials, transportation, lunch and five full-day sessions.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for any business wishing to gain recognition through the program while maintaining a seat in the current session.

To learn more about Leadership Hanover or submit an application, please visit hanoverchamber.com/leadership.

Upcoming WorkshopsIf you aren’t using Facebook for your small business, you should be. As of February 2016, there are over 1.5 BILLION Facebook users (that number is quickly growing), and active users spend between 20-40 minutes on Facebook per day. That’s a lot of potential customers! If you think of Facebook as your digital storefront, imagine how many times per day they could ‘pass’ your storefront on Facebook.

So, why should you be on Facebook?

1. Facebook makes your business discoverable. When people search for your business, can they find you? Do a quick web search of your business name. Hopefully, you’ll get a few direct hits. If you have a webpage, you’ll likely see that show up. If you have a Facebook page, that will show up as well. As creating and maintaining a website can be costly, Facebook offers a free option for small business owners to be discovered on the web.

2. Facebook makes your business connected. Social media is just that...social. Through your Facebook page, you can interact with your customers and have one-on-one conversations. Your clients can follow your page, read your posts and share them with friends. They can ‘check-in’ when they shop, dine or visit, sharing with the world that they are at YOUR place of business.

3. Facebook makes your business timely. We are living in the era of now; we want our news, entertainment, and everything else now! Your Facebook page helps you to reach large groups of people frequently, and with messages tailored to their needs and interests. Having a sale? Just received a shipment of new product? Chef special tonight? Share the news instantly, and invite your fans to spread the word!

4. Facebook makes your business insightful. Would you benefit from carefully collected information on your customer base? Facebook does the dirty work for you and provides user analytics, giving you a deeper understanding of your customers and the effectiveness of your marketing activities.

Remember, your Facebook page is an extension of your business. It’s an easy way to share updates and more with the people who matter most, and will help you engage your customers on a regular basis.

Capital Blue Cross has named Hanover Hospital as a Blue Distinction Center+, for Knee and Hip Replacement. The Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care® program is a national designation awarded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality specialty care – which expanded recently to include more robust quality measures focused on improved patient health and safety, as well as new cost-efficiency measures. Hanover Hospital is proud to have met the rigorous selection criteria set by the Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program.

Research confirms that the newly designated Blue Distinction Centers+ demonstrate better quality and improved outcomes for patients, with lower rates of complications and readmissions than their peers. Overall, Blue Distinction Centers+ also are more than 20 percent more cost-efficient than their peers. The program provides consumers with tools to help them make better informed healthcare decisions. These results will also enable employers, working with the local Blue Plan, to tailor benefits to meet their individual quality and cost objectives. An average of 112 total hip and 222 total knee replacement procedures are performed per year at Hanover Hospital. “We are very happy to receive this designation which reflects the commitment of our physicians and nursing staff to ensure that our patients receive high quality cost-effective care,” said Michael Gaskins, Interim President and CEO, Hanover Hospital. “We will strive to continually meet and exceed the quality measures required by this designation.”

For more information about Blue Distinction Centers+, please visit www.bcbs.com/bluedistinction.

Hospital Receives DesignationTREYSTA Technology Management has announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named TREYSTA to its 2016 Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500 list in the Pioneer category. TREYSTA has been a proven leader in IT management and services in south central PA for over 20 years. With the merger of Net-Aid and ComputerWorks in 2014, TREYSTA has grown in both knowledge and employees.
