The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce and its Board of Directors invite
you and your fellow employees to join our Christmas Celebration and
Membership Appreciation Mixer!

In October, the Board of Directors voted on a new mission statement for the chamber, one that they felt more clearly defined what we do for our members and the community.
The Midlothian Chamber is the catalyst for economic growth for our members and the community through advocacy, education and community enhancement.
By definition, advocacy is public support for or recommendation of a particular cause or policy.
"their advocacy of traditional family values" synonyms: support for, backing of, promotion of, championing of;
The Chamber develops programs and events to champion our members, programs and events where members are able to promote themselves to each other or to the community. The Chamber also only refers members when asked for recommendations for goods and services.
Education is the process of facilitating learning. The Chamber offers a variety of programs, facilitated by our members and specialists, designed to educate business owners and professionals on different topics that are beneficial to them.
Community Enhancement puts these two concepts together to develop a strong community that is a great place to live, work and play.
How is the Chamber of Commerce the catalyst for advocacy, education and community enhancement? We are a coalition of over 430 members, representing several hundreds of employees, who are the voice of the business community. It is through our programs, through the work of our volunteers (members), that we build a stronger community.
I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone who has been involved with the Chamber this year. As Chairman of the board, it is nice to see the participation from all of the membership at each and every event that we have. These events are designed to help you, the membership, to get connected with other businesses and potential customers while having fun at the same time. Along with these events, I am very excited about some of the changes that we have been able to make this year at the chamber. One of the biggest changes that you will notice is our membership package plan that will be in effect when you renew your membership in the upcoming year. Instead of having a one size fits all approach to membership, we have changed the membership structure to allow you to choose what fits your business the best. This structure will allow the chamber to be a better business partner with you, no matter what your business needs are. Some other exciting changes we have been able to make is through the formation of different committees that you can serve on with the chamber. These committees not only help us make sure that all members are being heard, but it also helps you get the most out of your membership that you can. The Chamber is an organization that is dedicated to you and your success, so the more involved you are the more we can help you. This is a very exciting time for Midlothian. If you attended our State of the City luncheon, you can see just how much growth Midlothian has been experiencing and how much more there is to come. Now is a great time to be involved with the chamber making the connections needed to grow your business with the growth of Midlothian. We value our membership more than anything and want to make sure we are a vital tool to your success. Looking back on 2015, I am proud of the success and changes we have been able to make at the Chamber and looking forward to 2016, I am very excited about all of the opportunities to come.
