The Tooele County Chamber of Commerce has recently pur-chased the old Tooele Clinic building located at 54 South Main Street, Tooele. The pur-chase was made with funds that were received from a sale of property that was originally do-nated over 40 years ago by LaVar Tate, one of the original Cham-ber founders. The building is lo-cated next to property currently owned by the Tate family. Plans for the building in-clude Chamber offices, meeting rooms, information and visitor reception area and additional office spaces available for rent.

Kaylee Melton, employed by Denny’s in Tooele, is the January 2010 Employee of the MonthShe was nominated by the management team at Den-ny’s. “Kaylee is always working, always happy and the best host we’ve had! She is ef-ficient and well organized. Kaylee works double shifts and when called back to fill another shift, she does so without with ever get-ting mad. She works well, even under pressure. She advanced from a host to a server while also attend-ing school. This compli-ment was written in the log book... Kylee should be recognized for team work without being prompted and for a great attitude.”Congratulations Kaylee for going above and be-yond your job description and for providing Denny’s customers and co-workers with great service!

Repairs to the building will begin when the weather im-proves in the spring. Saving the old building from demolition was important to the Chamber board and director. It is im-portant to keep the Chamber offices easily accessible to visi-tors and residents and therefore, downtown Tooele City seemed to be the perfect spot to locate the new offices. The Chamber will be ac-cepting donations and/or volun-teer help to “clean up” the prop-erty and make it a show piece for Tooele City.

Denny’s is the 2010 sponsor for the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce employee of the month. All Chamber members may nominate an employee to receive this award. Winners will receive a $20 gift card for Denny’s along with a t-shirt and other gift items.

Nominate your great employees today by fax: 435-833-0946.
