STEP 1: The graph passes through (0,a) That is, the y-intercept!

STEP 2: Plug in x=1 to get a second point.

STEP 3: The x-axis is an asymptote of the graph.

Domain: all real numbers

Range: is y>0 is a>0 and y<0 if a<0.

This is an extremely similar method to graphing square roots and cube roots!!!
